Community Analysis
A community is best described as large or small social unit that possesses something in common such as the identity, norms, or even the values. With a community sharing a sense of place that is located in a specific geographical area, analysis of the community tends to address the social, environmental and economic factors. The data gathered from the community is analyzed through four stages that include categorizing, summarize, compare and finally draw references (Diem and Moyer, 2005).
Categorize
Categorizing of the information gathered is the initial phase of the analysis. The data is grouped into either strength, issue or the background. Issues subcategory helps in identifying the issues that are strongly felt by assessment of the participants. The background subcategory helps in identifying the rationale of the project whether it is based on secondary data or primary data. The strengths help in determining the amount of interest, initiatives or even resources available in the community.
Summarize
Summarization of the data is the second phase of the analysis whereby the data in every subcategory is analyzed. In determining the themes of qualitative data, set questions are used while descriptive statistics are applied in identifying the quantitative data.

Compare
A comparison is conducted once the information has been summarized. The phase aims at identifying some of the inconsistent or missing data. In case of any missing data, one may complete it or opt to depict it as a limitation of the assessment report.

The mission statement is also used as means of comparison.
Draw Inference

At this point, the team members are involved in drawing some conclusion. A conclusion statement is derived that allows the members to make decisions on either the primary or secondary data.
Nursing diagnosis in a community involves quantification and identification of health challenges (Gordon, 2014). Through the four phases of the community analysis, the diagnosis process is efficiently conducted as the four phases provide details of the community that are critical and significant in the diagnosis process.
