Introduction

There are different national and international organizations (UNESCO, WHO, Council of Europe, Ministry of Education) that advise introducing various actions that allow to promote and educate health in schools.

The health promoting centers must act considering and carrying out the following aspects: “1) healthy school policies, 2) the physical environment of the school, 3) the social environment of the school, 4) individual health skills and competences forThe action, 5) links with the community, 6) Health Services ".

European and Latin American experience for health promotion at school:

Different schools have adopted initiatives that allow their students to develop strategies to monitor, attend and care for their own health, this has been promoted the WHO, since it considers the involvement of different fields necessary to achieve a society with a good state of health.

It was in 1995 when WHO promoted the global school health initiative that aims to develop health in the education sector through health promoting schools. Health promoting schools appear in Europe in 1991 with the European Network of Health Promoting Schools (REEPS), the main purpose is the expansion of health promotion in the educational centers of all countries, for this it is necessaryhelp with the various entities that are involved and make this objective possible.

The organization formed by all the health promoters of Latin America, establishes three essential elements to promote health in educational centers: “a) health education with comprehensive approach;b) creation and maintenance of healthy environments and environments;c) Provision of health services, healthy eating and active life ”.

Based on the foundations established in the Health Schools Network in Europe and in the Latin American School Net.
