People with Down Syndrome

Introduction

At the beginning of our lives, we begin to understand that when passing time we are going through different stages, some full of joy and love, but others of sadness and anguish, generating our own expectations. Upon reaching the adult stage, we began to have the illusion of bringing a new being to the world. But are we prepared? The truth is that no person was born as being a father, and in some cases it is more complicated, especially when it comes to children with Down Syndrome (SD), since, the family faces a large number of obstacles andquestions due to fear of not having the knowledge of the care that these children need.

For this reason, parents face a grieving process since the beginning of the diagnosis, in which it depends on the way in which treating doctors communicate these parents. The doctor constantly goes through situations in which they report bad news to patients and treating families. Being of great importance to take into account, how will the correct way and place be carried out to communicate information.

Developing

Parents who have gone through situations like these describe overwhelming emotions. Some of them try to get out of that state because they have the belief that there could be a mistake in the diagnosis already given. The way to face these circumstances is different as a couple, they wonder what is the reason why that situation is going through. "I felt like the one who lives a nightmare and wants to wake up as soon as possible" those were the words that a father said when answering the question of his experience at the time of diagnosis of a son with Down syndrome.

Wait! People With Down Syndrome paper is just an example!

Although they come to affirm that through this experience they get beneficial results.

For this it is really important that the father is present, since he would help the mother so that she does not feel that she is alone and also helps in the special needs of the child. The paternal role will become a great challenge because it will make them participate much more in the raising of the child, this generates that parents no longer visualize life as before, they begin to question society itself.

The SD is one of the main causes that are most known in intellectual deficiency or low adaptive behavior, in which it can be diagnosed in a prenatal way by conducting studies of cytogenetic origin, this occurs in 1 in 691 births. In children and adults a slower development is experienced, however, it is important to recognize that many of these individuals have great skills and talents.

Most people consider SD as a disease, however, it is not, these are unique and special people, with an intellectual disability with some particular physical features. But each of those qualities does not define them, a person with Down syndrome can have a pleasant and normal life like any other person, they only need a little more support from the people around them.

These children with Down syndrome have the right to enjoy a self-sufficient life, but they must be supported by families, developing tactics to increase equipment that helps them enhance more tools to expand their abilities. Respecting his privacy to certify his right to equality and dignity.

In a study conducted by DR. Brian Skotko Specialty in Down Syndrome (SD) reportin a sensitive and adequate way the diagnosis of SD. Therefore, in this study it was observed that a total of 11% of mothers did not receive sufficient information, in which they said they expected to obtain more explicit information and more detailed responses about problems that could appear over time.

In children’s stage it is the most difficult for children with Down syndrome because they begin to realize that there are differences to other children. The social characteristics of a community are strong because they influence the way they are accepted and incorporated into social relations. In the community it is very common that people with these disabilities are discriminated against by their skills because these people do not understand that the process they learn is different from others.

For children it is difficult to feel different or excluded by other children who still do not have the ability to understand what they are happening. For these children the way of playing does not become similar to that of the other children. It is possible that it is less didactic, that it remains longer time and does not feel so attracted to the toys or that it has a non -characteristic behavior of its age., Since they acquire the skills at a different rate, but to achieve this, special stimulation by the parents is necessary, where routines are established that will help it assimilate the information.

With the passage of time the child will be able to play alone and have fun, through experimentation with the things around him and sharing time with parents, brothers and friends. They develop more quickly in their first years of life than when they are in the second childhood because they have a more leisurely pace, although they continue to increase their skill and capacities to achieve what they propose.

The most complicated stage for them is adolescence, since physical and sentimental changes begin, observe the activities carried out by other young people and increase their desire to do the same as others, that is when parents begin to protect them generating inThey feel more independence.

conclusion

Usually people with SD are called "special" that are used to describe a person to care for and protect, we have to recognize that they are people like any other. A baby with SD must be treated like any of its brothers, the only difference will be that parents must have more attention to the needs that come to develop.

In this type of situation it is important that there are all possible support for these children to feel in total confidence to be able to develop in all factors, and that family support is unconditional to continue with life. Communication is essential to stimulate your interest to learn by promoting activities in order to improve your intellectuality.
