Personal Philosophy of Nursing. I chose nursing as my profession because it is concerned with offering service to people in need. In essence, being a nurse would allow me to interact with other people and observe the value of medical care in bringing about change that could easily be interpreted as ‘miracles.’ In addition, I would be able to influence public health policies for the best outcomes in guaranteeing the good health of my charges. In this respect, I chose nursing as my profession because it would allow me to be a public servant in addressing health needs.
I believe that the core of nursing is its link to humanity as the foundation for offering medical care. In fact, it is my awareness that nurses occupy privileged positions that require them to mesh their personal values to have a good awareness of what it means to be human. This understanding ensures that they offer the best possible care.
I believe that the focus of nursing is on ensuring that patients receive rounded care that goes beyond meeting their physical needs as regards the ailment or injury. In essence, the approach applies holistic care to ensure that the patient receives the optimum healing that addresses four principal environments to include internal, interpersonal, behavioral, and external environments.
My vision as a nurse is that I will become a competent medical professional capable of offering direct nursing services that entail engaging the public and patients in health forums and discussions. This includes participating in consultations with medical care teams to take advantage of their extensive expertise and experience and enhancing the possibility of ethical decision making.

Wait! Personal philosophy of nursing paper is just an example!

In addition, I should be able to work in a variety of workplace locations to include outpatient, home, inpatient and field locations to implement both non-invasive and invasive monitoring, along with handling all nursing features of medical care.
To live out my philosophy of nursing, every day I must remember this about:
My patients are human beings and should be handled with respect and ethical consideration. They are the primary recipients of medical care and every decision should be made with their best interests at heart. As such, they should be included in making decisions regarding care since their rights extend to the treatment environment. Still, I must make informed decisions regarding treatment and diagnosis by relying on my professional knowledge since I am a guardian of the patients’ interests. In this respect, I will be keen to include patients in making health care decisions, although this will be informed by nursing knowledge and experience.
My patient’s families: the patients’ family should be considered as stakeholders who have a say on care decisions. That is because they have a decision-making responsibility when the patient is incapacitated or unable to make decisions. In addition, they are primary care providers (at home) who are instrumental in the treatment process since they have a more intimate relationship with the patient when compared to medical personnel. As such, the family members should be included in the care process.
My fellow health care professionals: they form part of a multidisciplinary team that combines knowledge and experience to guarantee favorable outcomes for the patient. In this case, it would be important to consult widely with other health care professionals since they each have complementary skills and knowledge whose aggregation represents a valuable resource. For that matter, other health care professionals would be considered as a resource to improve care outcomes.
My own health: would be a priority since it affects my capacity to complete professional. Being sick will make it difficult to meet the patients’ needs since I will be preoccupied with finding ways on how best to improve my health. In addition, my ill health would expose the patient to an unsafe environment that presents the possibility of cross infection and adding to the patients’ disease burden. Besides that, being sick compromises my immune system and makes it easy to pick new infections from the treatment environment. Therefore, my own health would be apriority such that I would be keen to ensure that I am healthy before (or am controlling the existing illness) before handling patients.
