Personal Statement
The human body carries out tremendously complex tasks on a routine basis. It comprises of remarkably complex organs, such as the liver, eyes, kidneys, the heart, the skin, and the brain, among others (Starr, Christine, and Lisa 384). In fact, the workings of the human brain easily make the most advanced computer ever made look like a toy. The complexity of interaction between cells and the fascinating immune system that is mostly efficient in fighting diseases make the human body a world in itself.
The diversity of the human body with regard to coping with diseases has always fascinated me. I currently hold a bachelor degree in medicine and surgery, and I received my master’s degree in biomedical science (immunology) this year from Westminster University. My master’s project was in bioinformatics microbiology. I seek to gain more knowledge in bioinformatics and, therefore, I have chosen an extended project that is to start on March 6, 2018.
My experience at Westminster University allowed me to gain valuable practical experience. My master’s project, which involved investigating the genetic basis of Salmonella Dublin, enabled me to gain important skills in using various bioinformatics tools in investigating the genetic background to not only come up with dependable and easy diagnostic methods but also to help create an effective treatment and look into other treatment alternatives.
I was also involved in the same project as a visiting researcher upon completing my master’s education, which helped me gain practical skills in analyzing Illumina sequence and assembling the genomic sequencing data.

Wait! Personal statement paper is just an example!

Overall, my experience at Westminster University has greatly enhanced my repertoire of bioinformatics tools, and even though I continue to feel that learning is a never-ending journey, I am confident that I have gained a lot of new information and skills, and I am relishing it immensely. This opportunity will set a great foundation that will ultimately advance my academic experience and knowledge.
