Honor, Truthfulness and Courage
Society is constantly looking for new sets of values that serve to explain new behaviors and action. However, values never grow old and it is more a matter of transforming them, instead of finding new ones. This happens with three values that a first glance might seem outdated, but they remain current and applicable in our lives.
For instance, honor has a connotation of war and fighting, but in our modern setting honor might refer to different things such as honoring oneself. Many times we are forced to undertake responsibilities that are not meant for us, which can lead to stress and self-loathing. Hence, by honoring oneself we should realize there are certain things we should not do, regardless the situation and that keeping real to our beliefs is always the correct way to proceed.
Conversely, truthfulness has remained as the cornerstone of the human relations. Without truthfulness, it would not be possible to trust the others, resulting in anarchy and problems. Hence, honesty must be exercised at all times, without fearing those honest actions might hurt the others as it is better to be honest once than spending a life lying. Likewise, being truthful to ourselves will avoid our many disillusions as this honesty shows us how far we can go. Ultimately, courage. Courage is not only being brave without measuring the circumstances. Courage can also be the ability to accept ourselves the way we are. It takes courage to realize that although we might strive and try to change ourselves, in the end, we are just humans that might fail and fall in any situation.

Hence, being courageous can also relate to self-acceptance and self-love.
In the end, there is not such thing as old values, it only takes a healthy mind to realize that we have to have the courage to accept ourselves while being truthful to others to honor their trust and our desires.
