Planning for Personal, Social and Human Development

During the planning course and social and human development programs we learned that to create a democratic and inclusive society it is essential to develop competences that allow us to be trained professionals who exercise their functions properly to respond to the demands of the medium. The planning for development is the product of major social and environmental changes, it is a technical method that must ensure the participation of the population in spaces for discussion and consultation against public matters of interest such as plans, programs and projectsdevelopmental.

In the course, it was discussed that the development plans are composed of different phases where the objectives, goals, economic and social resources, strategy, diagnosis and the investment plan indicators of the programs and projects are constantly discussed. During the planning, management and integral development of the city there is the participation of various actors, however, it is clear that the participation of some actors is very limited, since the time to participate and discuss the proposals of the Development Plan isVery restricted, so it is essential to recognize and create a democratic space where the participation of all social actors is taken into account, since they can generate proposals, ideas and possible solutions for the social transformation of the municipality. In addition, development planning must contribute to the decisions that are taken around planning are the most appropriate.

Thanks to the subject we could understand that as citizens we have the responsibility of monitoring the Medellín Future 2020 – 2023 Development Plan, because we are the one who best knows the true needs of the community (housing, aqueduct, air quality, transport, among others). With the academic exercise that the teacher proposed we could deepen the process thoroughevent in all areas of everyday life.

In Colombia, planning for development represents many challenges in academic work, as it is a process that is still with deficiencies. But, once this delay in planning and development can be overcome, we can strengthen the democratic spaces of the public administration and increase citizen participation, so it is essential to take into account that the more participatory the social processes can be better channeled by resources, skills, capacities, information, proposals and new strategies that respond to latent problems and needs in our territory, such as infrastructure, pollution, unemployment, poverty, education, mobility, among other aspects. In order to generate greater well -being throughout the population. The current situation transformed the territorial and development planning plans, so from the State different alternatives and strategies must be created that respond to the new needs that COVID-19 brings, this in order to support the community and sensitizeTo society, since the pandemic will change the way we interact and will affect the reality of all people, since it is an inevitable situation.

The worldwide health emergency, I row even more than the "underdeveloped" countries do not have the necessary resources, to protect the population from the negative impact, this makes poverty increase in communities. This is why social sciences are making constructive criticism of the current development model. Highlighting that pandemic evidenced that the long -awaited development is unsustainable, and only produces inequality in society. The current situation asks us to build a new development model that is really sustainable and responsible, where minorities are still valued socially, social inequality is reduced and environmental should be taken into account, since we cannotcontinue contaminating natural resources, we must remember that these are limited.

I believe that every day the planning will be strengthened, because in the future its purpose will be to face the new challenges caused by the unsustainable and unequal production and social development model. Its main task will be to protect the most vulnerable population from the negative impact that the health emergency will bring worldwide and mitigate poverty in communities. Therefore, that trained professionals who exercise their functions are required properly, in the case of social workers we must develop various research skills, possess a theoretical, conceptual and methodological framework, which allow us to have a holistic vision of social contexts in thedifferent dimensions of development and thus ensure the participation of the different social sectors especially to those where it presents greater vulnerability. For us, as professionals in social work training, planning becomes a support tool with which we can work to solve the social deficiencies that every day arise, especially to the circumstances that are currently presented by theproblem we are living around the world and the new problems that will arise from this. In this way, this new reality will be sought that we are all living, but to achieve it all professionals must work together to build a support network that allows analyzing, diagnosing and intervening immediately in the population, in order for them to understandthat the drastic change is teaching us that it is the best time to work together to transform society.
