Problem Statement
The cost of healthcare has risen over the past years. This has led to the creation of an ever-increasing gap between the cost of health care and the quality of healthcare. Medical errors which can occur due to negligence by the health providers have also put a dent in the healthcare system.
Background
The country’s debt is constantly rising. It can be attributed to the cost of the health care system in the country. There should be aware of the implications of having such a burden of debt hence the need to be a change to have control over the debt.
Landscape
Key stakeholders consist of healthcare providers, healthcare institutions and patients. Healthcare provider’s key factors are patient care followed by cost efficiency. Heath institutions key factor is financial control followed by creating employment opportunities. The patient key factors are the quality of health care and accessibility.
Options
Option 1: Increased training of the healthcare providers can, in turn, lessen the burden placed on the physicians.
Option 2: Creation of efficient systems which do not micromanage nurses provides better, quality health care to patients
Option 3: Creation of central databases for patient’s, hence health staff have easy access to the records.
Recommendation
Improved education of the healthcare providers.Medical errors can be reduced by encouraging and continually training the staff members. This should be accompanied by education programs and initiatives.

The increased level of education can be seen as the most efficient way of bridging the gap between the cost of health care and quality of healthcare.
This can lead to the reduction of medical errors which in turn leads to an improved quality of patient care and decreased cost. The expenses incurred as a result should be reimbursable as it is an investment.
