Appeal for Readmission into the University
I am writing to request for reinstatement into the university after receiving a dismissal letter from the academic division. Apparently, I was not surprised to receive the message in line with my sub-par performance in last semester’s examinations. However, I was upset to receive the letter since I love the institution and my program and would like to graduate with a degree from this institution. I am hoping that the appeal will convince you to reinstate me for next semester. I would also like to thank you for the opportunity that you have granted me to explain the circumstances that led to my dismal performance last semester.
First, I want to acknowledge that I had a tough time last semester that in turn compelled my grades to suffer. I do not have any intentions to justify my poor grades in this appeal but would like to explain the specific circumstances that led to the results. I live with my stepfather and his family. Even before moving to that family, I knew from the onset that it would be challenging to score good grades under the conditions provided by the family. While I considered it a favor for my stepfather to offer me a roof in his house, I felt that having to help in almost everything would reduce the amount of time that I devoted toward studying for exams. According to him, it was only through helping in virtually all household chores that I could demonstrate appreciation for his decision to accommodate me.

Wait! Readmission Letter paper is just an example!

Since scoring high grades requires a student to devote a lot of time toward studying and revising for exams, I knew that the limited time for studying would compromise my ability to achieve high scores. It is thus clear that the home situation derailed my focus on schoolwork. However, I also understand that I should have communicated the issue with my professors.

Secondly, I want to confess that I encountered significant challenges commuting to and from the school. The fact that I did not have a car combined with the burden at home prevented me from arriving at the school in time to revise, prepare for, and attend all classes as required. This, in turn, implied that I experienced significant difficulties trying to understand some of the topics. While I tried to catch up on hard to understand areas by seeking assistance from my colleagues, I found it difficult to understand all areas of the topics. Since last semester when I got a car and managed to reach school early and leave late after revisiting all areas covered in the day’s lectures, I have started scoring higher grades than those scored in the first two semesters. Therefore, I am requesting that you reinstate me for next semester because I believe that I will improve my dedication toward schoolwork.
Fortunately, the situation is changing at home, as my stepfather has allowed me to focus on schoolwork and only help at home during my free time. If I am reinstated, I will improve my focus on schoolwork, spend more hours in the school to ensure that home distractions do not affect my studying hours, and overall, manage my time more wisely to better my performance. I hope you will grant me another chance. Thank you very much for considering this appeal for reinstatement.
Sincerely,
