self – esteem is a main indicator in personal development, it is formed about the opinions we have of ourselves. The school undoubtedly constitutes the second place where each child develops their self – esteem, the class classroom becomes a complement and gives it a personality impulse. In the development of each individual it can be said that it is essential, since it is a factor that helps us determine the behavior and form of quotas with the basic norms of coexistence. 

For “Markus and Kunda (1986 cited by Cava Caballero 1997), they consider that self – esteem influences the self-regulation of behavior, mediating in decision making, influencing the choice of objectives and the establishment of action plans” (p. 32)

self – esteem is an issue that causes anguish in all, but above all to relatives and guardians, since they yearn that their children are excellent, but thanks to the numerous causes these dreams are usually at risk, such as physical, verbal abuseand psychological, either inside or outside the educational institution.

The consciences left by these countless factors triggers in most cases of self – esteem and very low school performance, alternatives have to be found to provide solutions, since if they are not helped, when they grow up they cannot be included in thesociety, they will not have the slightest job opportunity and will grow in complete isolation.

The vocabulary used when we talked to children is fundamental, this can be one of the main factors for low self – esteem and entails negative consequences if it is not detected in time. It must be considered that infants are fixed in every detail and are imitating experts even though they do not always imitate good actions and if these behaviors are not corrected or detected in time they can be normalized for the infant, thus becoming a serious problem for bothThe child who is affected as for the child who has imitated inappropriate behaviors.

We must take into account that both the school and the home must be safe places, where the child feels protected and free. It is the duty of parents and teachers to obtain information to provide the infant with the necessary help, but not only in the educational field, but also in the personal sphere, many parents do not give the child acceptance, discipline or love and thatIt is one of the main reasons why, children often seek help from teachers, but they are not attended and unfortunate for a long time when they feel the rejection of those who should give them security they usually have problems with their self – esteem, they feel they are insufficient and that is therewhere the consequences of low self – esteem arrive.

Childhood is one of the most important stages in each of the people, the environment, affection and gestures influence children’s self – esteem. The way to educate and treat them is one of the predominant factors, either because of the misinformation or bewilderlife. As “Rodríguez Ruth (2004) refers to, self – esteem is built throughout life. The personal aspect of a child has a value for his parents and immediate environment and will contribute to the self-perception that this child has of himself ”. 

To conclude we can say that self – esteem has a more than important value in the development of the human being and not having a good self – esteem will affect your life, it will give negative results in its academic activities and cannot be developed as it is due in society,You can not excel, have goals, much less have good quality of life, since it will constantly feel inferior and put obstacles throughout your life. But beyond the long -term consequences, we must understand and understand that it is the responsibility of the father of the family, teacher and society, to positively influence the life of children, take care of our actions, but above all to provide security and love forthat our children feel safe and can develop in an integral way properly. A good self – esteem can guarantee a good quality of life where the child will grow and follow his dreams, fight for what he intends, will be integrated as it is due to society.
