Abstract
Bias in our society has tolerated gender inequality and lack of expression bearing the fact that one is expected to comply with what his/her community/government requires him to do. This problem stems from the diverse cultures that command us to act in one way or the other. However, individuals need to avert from practices that tolerate gender discrimination and seclusion. The film titled “same love” focuses on this subject of gender and sexuality whereby it addresses this topic of same-sex marriage and same-sex relationship. In this case, those who are marginalized are men who tend to engage in a relationship with fellow men. They are viewed as a disgrace in the society and in some nations they are denied some privileges. Same Love text contains adequate information on why there is a need to promote same-sex marriages and since gender inequality is present in the society the text is useful in championing for gender equality.
The authors have achieved to combine both words and visuals to support their claims on the need to legalize gay marriage. The use of compelling words such as “I can’t change even if I tried” and images of same-sex kissing and marrying makes it easier for an audience to recall the message of the artists which is gays should continue exercising what they believe is right (Macklemore and Ryan 2012). Also, it compels everyone in the society to join hands in championing for equality where the government of each state needs to legalize same-sex marriages.

Wait! Sexual Diversity paper is just an example!

It’s evident that gay members in the community are marginalized and there is a need to develop measures to address this issue.
From the text “Same Love” the artists are expressing the need for gender equality in the society where one should be allowed to express his love to anyone without restriction. The text focusses on marriage equality, gay rights and discrimination of sexuality (Macklemore and Ryan 2012). This topic on gay marriages has been faced with considerable controversy over the years. Some view it as unethical to marry an individual from the same gender because it undermines family values while others have considered that allowing and legalizing gay marriages will achieve fundamental human rights and it will achieve equality in that it will portray that all genders are equal.
Some of the ways in which gender discrimination can be controlled in the society are by influencing willing individuals to join hand in championing for gender equality. There is a need to end the discrimination on sexuality and to end the controversy that exists about gay marriage. The initial impression is that every individual should have the freedom to act anything provided that nothing undermines the freedom and rights of others because that what our constitution champions for. Gay marriage is voluntarily and doesn’t intrude to the freedom of other citizens thus it should be legalized even though it will legitimize morally corrupt unions where society believe a union should be between a man and a woman.
In conclusion, the text “Same Love” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, feat. Mary Lambert has achieved to express the issue of same-sex marriage which is a common issue faced by gays and lesbian society. Some of the ways this gender discrimination can be controlled are by legalizing same-sex marriages and by championing for the right and freedom of all individuals. When gender equality will be achieved the film will display happy individuals who are free to do anything that they wish provided it doesn’t infringe on other people rights.
