Should Smoking in public be allowed?
Introduction
Smoking in public should not be allowed at all. Smoking on itself is a vice that should be discouraged among the population. It should be discouraged owing to its adverse effect that putt time the people who smoke down. At times, smokers die as a result of the toxicity of the substance smoked. Therefore, I oppose with strongest terms possible that smoking should be allowed in public. Smoking entails inhaling smoke from drugs like tobacco, bhang among others that are toxic and classified as hard drugs that are a cause of very dangerous effects on the body and the environment. The reasons people should not smoke in public explained below.
Smoking in public results in air pollution that exposes living organisms to its danger. It is evident that tobacco that commonly smoked in cigarettes contains four thousand dangerous chemicals that when breathed out by the smoker and released to the environment. The particles could find themselves settles on the leaves of the plants. As a result, they particles could block the pores meant for photosynthesis or poison the plant. The plant could also absorb the particles, and when fed on by the primary producers, the animals could get poisoned. It is also worth noting that the micro-organisms in the air also get intoxicated, and this leads to interference with the ecological balance.

In addition to that smoke in public greatly affects the pseudo-smokers. Pseudo smokers are those who inhale the smoke coming from those who release it from the cigar. In other words, they are secondary smokers. They suffer the hardest effects of the smoke in as much as they are not direct smokers. When they inhale the smoke containing hundreds of dangerous chemicals, they are likely to acquire respiratory ailments. Their blood initially being free from the toxic substances absorbs much higher quantity than that of the smoker. It leads to the intoxication of higher rate compared to the habitual smokers. The pseudo-smokers finally acquire respiratory diseases like bronchitis and even lung cancer. Some end up dying if these conditions are not diagnosed in advance.
Smoking also causes land and water pollution that poses a great danger to the environment. When cigar butts fall on the ground after public smoking, the butts find their way in water bodies especially when rains sweep them. They also find themselves in the soil causing pollution to both. When the butts get themselves in lakes, the sea creatures feed on them. The chemicals then enter the animal’s bodies. It then leads to the death of the sea creatures. In the ground, the butts decompose and release the chemicals into the ground consequently causing soil leach and also kill the microorganisms that improve the fertility of the soil. Finally, when dropped on the ground, the cigar could cause the fire that may burn millions of property and consequently cause death and huge losses.
It is therefore clearly spelt out that smoking in public has a major danger to the environment as it causes air, water and soil pollution. The adverse effect it has on trees is something to peg our reasons on to fight against smoking in public. The effects so mentioned, apart from the pseudo-smokers, it is also worth noting that those who also smoke harm themselves with the chemicals in the cigarettes because they inhale the contents directly. Therefore, smoking is a lifestyle that should never be encouraged for the sake of the lives of human and the environment at large.
