Abstract
Social development is dependent on the environment. The paper cites three research findings, all of which support the fact that social development within individuals is a product of their environment. The way people learn how to co-exist with others depends on their early life exposures. The paper begins by informing the reader of the chosen topic and the initial stand before conducting research on peer-reviewed articles. The paper also discusses the major findings that the chosen authors developed, following research on the topic. A critical evaluation of each source takes the form of tabular representation. The table is used to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each of the three reviewed articles. The paper then concludes by restating the thesis statement and providing a change of stand based on findings from existing literature. In a nutshell, this short paper presents interesting facts on how the environment is a major factor that determines the social development within a person.
Opening Statement
The research paper argues that social development is a product of the environmental conditions that a person is exposed to in the course of their development.
Personal Belief/Opinion
In my opinion, I disagree with the fact that the environment has the capability to shape a person’s social life. Social development is based on a person’s mental condition and hereditary factors.

Wait! Social Development wihin individuals is a product of their environment paper is just an example!

The role of the environment, if any is not pronounced to the extent of shaping a person’s social life.
Outline of Academic Findings
Mason (2015) discovered that the environment is a major determinant of a person’s social development. The author discussed that human impacts of environmental changes often manifest in social aspects like health, social relations, mental distress and family separation among others. The social factors are directly involved in shaping the development of a person’s social life.

Another study by Bickhard (2014) analyzed how the environment can affect a person. Regarding the social aspect, the researcher discovered that a person’s language proficiency and communication capabilities depend on their understanding of the environment. In this case, the environment serves the purpose of determining the communication abilities of a person.
An earlier study by Arrington (1937) also concluded that social development in children depends on their initial environmental exposures. Their understanding of the self and those around them depicts what their environment provided them with while growing up.
Article Author Title Pros Cons
Mason L.R. Environment and Social Development -The paper is specific and brief-All the findings supported by the literature.-The author is clear about the paper’s objective -There is no methodology
Bickhard, M.H. How Does the Environment Affect the Person? -The argument presented is detailed.-The author relies on theoretical underpinnings. -The paper is primarily based on secondary data.
Arrington, R.E. The Impact of Environmental on the Social and Cultural Development of the Preschool Child -The article is specific to the target population.-A clear-cut methodology is provided-The paper has accurate arguments. _
Conclusion
Based on the research findings from the reviewed sources, it is evident that the environment determines the social development within individuals. The findings from the three studies have reversed my earlier opinion that the environment could not alter a person’s social development progress. Indeed, the environment is a major determining factor.
