I see that you understand the concepts outlined in social psychology. I feel like you have done an excellent job in establishing the link between a person’s behavior and their environment. According to the course, a behavior is a function of the interaction between a person and the surrounding. I can relate to how you chose to illustrate the principle by depicting events in the celebrity world. Nowadays, reality TV celebrities have to maintain a certain image to the public (Gruman, Schneider, & Coutts, 2016). The media, especially social media, plays an essential role in influencing the behavior of people. You chose Kim Kardashian, and follow Kim through by watching her show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Kim`s personality goes hand-in-hand with the surrounding. She is always in front of the camera and has to maintain a constant look of perfection. Ana points out that Kim has to keep her public image. The article has illustrated how Kim`s celebrity status compels her to act in public.

The post discusses the interactionist perspective broadly. I feel like you have done an excellent job of illustrating how both individualist personality and environmental factors influence behavior. However, your approach questions a broad perspective which has somehow left me confused. The author says character and the environment should be observed differently rather than combined. I identify the way you have used personal experiences as one of the illustrations in the post.

Wait! Social Responses Revised paper is just an example!

This does not provide evidence to support the interactionist perspective since personal experiences are not identifiable with everybody. However, you have identified that people behave differently at work and home. I like your example of Kylie Jenner to show how this relationship works. Kylie is a TV celebrity and she act like one her sisters (Kassin, Fein, & Markus, 2008). Kylie says her famous life has played a huge part in influencing her personality. This provides a more convincing argument than the later.
