Facilitated quicker research; Through the technological invention and more so the flourishing use of websites to dump information by several scholars and study groups, research has become more effective and efficient. The students and teachers quickly have access to information they need immediately at hand from the domains and search engines. Learning and gaining knowledge, therefore, have turned out to be quicker as compared to the previous pre-technological era where research and access to information significantly depended on published hard books. Principally, the technology does not just render the gist of entertainments alone, but in subsequent, an innate interest in the learning sessions and fun derived from the classes becomes the vital backbone. The technology hence eliminates the boredom that conquered the traditional reading and teaching tactic that preexisted with a monotonous black and white approach.
Technology has corroborated the significance of convenience attached to innovation on both students and teachers. From the traditional carriage of backpacks, bulky textbooks and other several resources and accompaniments have become micromanaged into a squeezed laptop. With average storage capacity and working power charge, students and teachers quickly work their ways into the classroom and still achieve quality learning sessions in classes. Teachers also experience ease at carrying their resources into classrooms just through laptops that hold all relevant and needed materials for a successful teaching and learning session.
Globalization; the employment and utilization of technology through online discussions and interactions establish a strong outreach among students and teachers from different geographical and origins. The relationship after that transforms into an efficient ideological exchange and sharing that leads to a vast knowledge wealth that never existed in the geographically remote learning system of the traditional classroom.
On the flip side, technology has leveraged negative consequences in the education system in various scopes. Some of the manners of its unwarranted damages described as below;
Creating a lazy generation; the availability of most major works and sources of information and materials at the click of buttons have attributed to vanish off the traditional curiosity, assiduity, and commitments among the scholars. The laziness has furthermore created general laxity into them to the extent of extending to basic lifestyle.
The proliferation of school information and circumvention of fabricated results has become the norm. Like any other concept of life, the growth of technology has come with its downfalls handy to the benefits. The growing invention of technology and computer system of information processing and storage has faced massive challenge including that of hacking and generic production of materials. Schools have experienced their financial database looped into, hacked and data with altered for the benefits of the suspects. Furthermore, students and other illegal syndicates have gone a notch higher to produce generic fake documentations such as the academic transcripts and certificated due out of their exceptional creativity.
Accesses to YouTube and other social media outlets have brood a morally contaminated generation with little attraction towards education. Due to the access to proscribed materials, such as pornographic clips and images, ethically corrosive movies of criminal lifestyles, the schools have experienced a setback from the especially on the moral towards learning. The impacts have led to a scene of a battle between education and immorality.
The culture of technology and e-learning has robbed the society the social developments and maturity aspects especially among the students. The deviation from the traditional classroom and physical interaction among the students the teachers get devastated each day. The impact is that regular interaction and openness, sharing and sociological understanding and learning of diversified personalities grow thinner and ignominious with due.
In conclusion, the technological acceptance and marriage with education have made the related activities friendlier and convenient like never owing from resources, motivation, efficiency attached to it, convenience and supplementary advantages it offers. However, inappropriate and uncontrolled use of technology may lead to a horrific society of dilapidated morality, culture, and exposure to massive losses. Stakeholders should, therefore, take it up in their arms to evaluate and define the limitations of access and prescribed standards.
