In America, the Bill of Rights is the formal declaration that outlines several legal and civil rights of the American citizens (Sunstein, 2009). It also includes individual limitations and creates boundaries on the power and influence of the government in the judicial system. On the other hand, participation refers to the aspects of having particular constituents taking part in the directing and operation of the political systems. The elements mentioned above play a crucial role towards the effectiveness of Democracy in America. They are among the components that facilitate democracy. Experts have usually warned against underestimating their position towards the development of democracy. This essay aims to evaluate aspects of The Bill of Rights as included in the American constitution, and solely focuses on rewriting of The Bill of Rights. In this perspective, issues of the new powers and reasons to be excluded are discussed.
Given an opportunity to review The Bill of Rights, I would introduce an amendment that regulates the ability to own and operate firearms and other weapons. Although holding such arms is considered an essential aspect to national security, the country has witnessed frequent mass shootings and other elements of adverse impacts resulting from the same (Rossum, 2018). This right or amendment shall help reduce the rate of homicides, assaults, and robberies. Therefore, there would be fewer Killings.

One of the most crucial attributes of this amendment is that it shall help facilitate one of the most fundamental rights, the right to live. Many people are denied this right due to the severe cases mentioned above.
Other than the aspect mentioned above, given an opportunity to rewrite The Bill of Rights, I would exclude some attributes, which are either considered weak, or outdated. One of the crucial aspects that fall into this category is the death penalty. Although the constitution, through document’s outlines mechanisms for the facilitation of the same, this process is considered by human rights organizations as inhuman, cruel and outdated. Therefore, there is a need to exclude it.
From the above-explained perspectives, it is clear that although The Bill of Rights plays a significant role in guiding and providing a legislative outline, some of its aspects need new analysis.
