This course is one of the most interesting courses in my syllabus and entails various essential and real life issues of the current society. Some of the major issues covered in this course include choice of sexuality such as LGBTQS that involves the concepts of lesbianism, gayism, bisexual, transgender, questioning and straight sexualities. This essay is focused on the increased campaign for tolerating the freedom of choice of sexuality in our societies and the need to recognize gays, lesbians, and people of different sexuality as equal. I have also learned the various methods and strategies used to increase awareness on the need to respect various types of sexuality in the society. For instance, the media is one of the major channels through which choice of sexuality is encouraged. Internet sites, media houses, and films nowadays contain much gay-related instances and content so as to encourage recognition of these people as part of the society. This campaign had intensified over the last two decades when most films and movies such as Chicago Hope and Coach contained several instances of gayism, lesbianism and bisexuality. Besides, television channels started engaging in airing gay-related content during the family time such as during dinner hours. This paper, therefore, is focused on changing the homophobic nature of our societies and transforming them into liberal social individuals. Also, the essay analyzes the various critical issues and personal insights that can be made from this course, as well as the current societal stance on various issues of sexuality.

Wait! The LGBTQS Community paper is just an example!

According to coursework and additional research on this course, I learned the various risks attributed to gayism. For instance, engaging in men to men sex has high chances of contracting sexually transmitted illnesses such as AIDS. Gayism is highly risky and avoiding it could be the best way. However, the paper goes ahead to sensitize the public on the need to understand these people as is their wish. According to various researches in the same paper, I learned that almost half of gays engage in sex without protection and this subjects them to the risk of contracting STDs. However, I learned that the LGBTQS community has been on a rapid rise over the last few decades, an indication that there is increased tolerance and recognition of this society across different parts of the world. Governments, individuals, non-governmental organizations and various big institutions are engaging in funding campaigns against gayism, although different other governments continue their acknowledgment and acceptance of the LGBTQS society.
This course was also helpful to me in that I learned the various circumstances that prompt individuals who are naturally neither gay nor lesbian to enter into this county. For instance, I learned the environment and circumstances surrounding an individual might be very sensitive in influencing sexuality. For instance, Christian families despise much of the LGBTQS community such as gays and lesbians. Thus individuals belonging to these families have limited to no chances of engaging in such gender role. Additionally, according to various researches learned in the course, I can deduce that prison environment is one of the areas where much of the same sex affairs take place. Jailed individuals find themselves trapped in quenching their sexual thirst with those of the same sex, while others are forcefully introduced into the culture. This course also helps me learn the various social challenges the LGBTQS community undergoes as they interact with others in the society, in most cases in which they are despised and unfairly treated.
From the course, I also learned how the internet is used to intimidate people of different sexualities for sexual, financial or other benefits. For instance, Facebook, a popular social media platform, is used to harass lesbians and gays due to their perception in the society. Also, the internet, Facebook, for instance, is used to enhance lesbianism and sexuality in that people may fake their identity so as to acquire sexual partners. I also learned that the internet is a powerful tool in campaigning for the choice of sexuality in various Facebook pages which are mostly open and can be accessed by many users across different places of the world. From this course, I also learned that people of different sexualities experience different encounters with the police. For instance, gays and lesbians are sometimes harassed by the police, while of the let go of them without nagging.
However, gay liberationists organized themselves in different places of the world with various objectives, more importantly being ending the harassment imposed to gays in various places such as bars and clubs. These gay liberationists also aim at ending stigmatization that different societies and cultural authorities manifest towards them. For instance, gays face discrimination in treatment in various social settings such as doctors, clergy, and government. Also, these gay movements aim at ending the discrimination in employment opportunities that these gays experience. I also learned the course of gays and lesbians movements as they fight for their rights and can be traced back to the 1970s in Michigan, US, when several gays and lesbians went to the streets to protest demand for their rights. Additionally, this event consequentially led to the passage of gay rights.
From this course, it can be concluded that the world today is joining efforts in campaigning for integrating the LGBTQS community to our societies as well as the need to recognize and treat them as equal humans. For example, it can be realized that the LGBTQS community was despised and not tolerated in societies. These people were perceived as immoral and out of their way. For example, lesbianism and gayism were highly despised and related poorly to the rest of the society before the 20th Century. I also learned various things concerning lesbianism. For instance, there has been increased campaign to accept lesbianism in our societies. Also, there have been several lesbian feminist movements organized by lesbians across different places of the world. Additionally, I have learned the various experiences of the LGBTQS community within the larger societies. These groups of people had been wrongly perceived and despised in various social settings, although the late 20th century marked a new revolution as gays and lesbians across different parts of the world started protesting for equal rights and treatment to others in the society. These led to gay rights being passed in several states across the US and other countries. I have also learned the ongoing campaigns for gay and lesbians rights in various places of the world that involve different governments and NGOs, individuals, and social media campaigns. I have also learned the various risks associated with involvement in gayism such as the high risks of contracting sexually transmitted illnesses. I also learned the importance to recognize and appreciate various groups and types of people in our societies regardless of their sexuality or sexual orientation.
