Body
Social media and businesses
Let me start by saying that the growth of the internet has led to the emergence of electronic tools that facilitates interaction among users. Companies mostly use social media for communication and marketing purposes. According to my sources, social media impacts organizations positively by increasing transparency, accountability, and facilitating communication. It is also associated with high levels of job satisfaction since it enhances self-determination. Nonetheless, social media can reduce employee performance which, in turn, results in decreased productivity. It can also cause bullying and wasted work time as employees spent more time checking their accounts. It also interferes with company privacy.
Social media and adolescents
The second point is about the widespread use of social media among the adolescent population. The benefits associated with social media use in this group include increased self-esteem, increased access to crucial support networks, and increased collaboration. It also helps them to access sensitive health information. However, teens are more prone to the negative effects of social media because they have reduced self-control. It makes them vulnerable to health and emotional problems, for instance, suicide. According to my references, it can also cause internet addiction, cyberbullying, sexting, and poor academic outcomes.
Social media and healthcare
The last point is about the impacts of social media use in the healthcare industry. According to my sources, social media acts as an aid to both physicians and patients. Notably, it helps patients to connect with each other, as well as practitioners. Again, it promotes their autonomy by supplementing offline information. It also enhances patient empowerment, self-management, and well-being. Nevertheless, it can spread misinformation which causes health problems. Besides, it results in loss of privacy, internet addiction, can make patients become targets of promotion
Questions and Answer
Is there anyone with a question?
Conclusion
To conclude, social media has both positive and negative impacts on business organizations, teenagers, and health care. Thank you!
