Facebook is a website that belongs to the social networks group that began in operation on February 4, 2004, was created by Mark Zuckerberg, as a tool for students of the American University of Harvard, which allowed them to remain in contact, exchangeNotes on the courses and better organize meetings for jobs, that then was called Facemash.

After Mark Zuckerberg was blamed for having stolen the information from his university, he abandoned his studies, however the Winklevos and Divya Narendra brothers classmates, knew about their incident. They had met their computer skills, so they convinced him to redesign and improve his network platform, with the aim of expanding not only in the United States, but also reaching different parts of the world according to. Not only did he have great success but not that he reached India where he supported universities in technological aspects to schools and institutes in that country, with the support he offered in the academic field, allowed him to generate more agreements with different countries.

Its main ideal was to create a web -based community that would allow information to be shared among different users. It is said that Facebook is the site with more information traffic worldwide that not only relates to universities but also in jobs, schools and more and more people are interested in having a Facebook account.
