Use of Force in the UK
The United Kingdom uses a very different format in handling issues regarding their police force. It has several unique characteristics are different from the police force in other countries. In the UK, the police officers are expected to follow a particular code of conduct. The law followed here was derived from the doctrine of minimal force. (Haberfeld, Maria R., and Ibrahim Cerrah, p. 284). They have the mandate to arrest an individual, but the use of force or firearms should come as the last resort when all other available methods have failed. Another expectation from them is that when handling suspects, they are not supposed to use any form of force whatsoever either physical or psychological to obtain information from the suspect. Use of firearms is expected to be done by armed response team who are deployed after the release of police issued with riot gears. They will have to work only if the riot team fail to settle rioting citizens down. (Haberfeld, Maria R., and Ibrahim Cerrah, p. 284).
In my opinion, the idea of having police officers who are unarmed at the same time, they work flawlessly is a surprise. The aim of having such can be considered whether good or bad after an analysis of the difference between other countries’ police officers and the UK police officers. From the way I have seen and heard other police officers mistreat suspects when handling them, I will actively support the above laws of the UK. Indeed, the above can help reduce levels of citizen mistreating and eradicate corruption in the process.

(Haberfeld, Maria R., and Ibrahim Cerrah, p. 290-291). Involvement of citizens in the process of bringing law and order is an amazing idea. When looked at on the perspective of leadership, involving citizens ensures that it keeps them on their feet and not all the work is left for the police. In other countries, all the police officers have firearms including the citizens themselves and the way the UK police do their job is surprising.
