Abstract
The paper analyzes the documentary on the struggles of children living in northern Uganda after the war against a resistance army. The paper first provides some background information on why the documentary was filmed. It then explains the execution of the documentary and examines whether the intended goal is achieved. Further, the paper also highlights some of the important scenes in the movie and provides an explanation of why these sections are essential in showing the adverse effects of war to the children who may not fully comprehend the extent of the impact to how they will live in future. The paper also elaborates why the issue tackled in the documentary is important. Additionally, it highlights some of the approaches used in helping the children affected by the war through organizing music and dance competitions. It concludes by providing an explanation on why other students should make an effort to watch the documentary.

War Dance Uganda Documentary
The documentary describes the struggle experienced by children who were affected by the war in Northern Uganda caused by the Lord Resistance Army (LRA). The documentary focuses on elaborating individual stories explaining the experiences of children in protection camps. Some of the children explain their encounters with LRA and some were even abducted as child soldiers. The documentary also illustrates the efforts to reform the children through music and dance to assist in the healing process.

Additionally, it also discusses the strengths of the documentary and the impact of these scenes in relaying an influential message to the viewers.
The children interviewed in the documentary have been traumatized by the war that was undertaken by the insurgency group. The documentary shows how the journey of the children in participating in sing and dance competition plays an essential role in the path towards integration back to the society (Fine, 2007). Music and dance act as a medium where the children can interact with one another freely and express their emotions. The participation in such activities helps the children in forgetting the disturbing acts that took place during the rebellion led by the LRA (Fine, 2007).
The first fifteen minutes of the movie are crucial in disseminating the individual struggles of a few of the children. It helps provide the background information on the terror imposed by the LRA (Fine, 2007). The introduction prepares the viewer to appreciate the importance of song and dance in the rebuilding of the children’s spirits that have been shattered during the attacks by the LRA. The rest of the video shows the journey to reach the music festival finals in Kampala. Even though the school highlighted in the documentary does not win, the documentary will demonstrate how participation in the competition helps in alleviating the agony of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD) affected children.
The issue is important due to the fact that people living in countries that have not experienced such wars where child soldiers are involved in the conflicts. It stresses the importance of peace and the need to solve the current problems in war-torn areas. The documentary also provides helps identify the role of human interaction and art through music and dance in assisting similarly affected individuals. The approach can be employed in different parts of the world under similar circumstances. The documentary also captures the struggles that the children in Northern Uganda undergo to access what is considered basic education (Fine, 2007). It ignites the need to help such brilliant students access better education, clean food and water, and excellent facilities to provide an environment where they can contribute to the eradication of poverty in their country.
In conclusion, the documentary is highly recommended to other students to help them get a glimpse of the darkest side of the war. It would also help stimulate appreciation of the peace and its crucial role in a successful life. The documentary is well executed and achieves the intention of illustrating the struggles if innocent children during the war. The individual stories of the war experiences are core in delivering the intended message. Further, it illustrates the importance of music and dance in reforming the children affected by the war. Additionally, it also shows the underdevelopment in the country and highlights the issues that should be addressed to improve the livelihoods of the children.
