Domestication and the Dream of the Planet
Don Miguel Ruiz argues that human beings do things based on agreements that they have with themselves, other people, their lives, and with God. However, the agreements people make with themselves are the most significant agreements since people tell themselves who they are, how they can conduct themselves, what is possible and what is not impossible to them. There are two vital elements that bring the supremacy of the agreement together; “Domestication” and “The dream of the planet.” According to Don Miguel, domestication is the manner in which humans raise their children or animals. Domestication usually begins when a child is born, he or she is always innocent, but they instantly accept the information fed to them by their elders. All humans are domesticated by their parents; taught what is right and what is wrong, and they are rewarded or punished accordingly.
In domestication of humans, the information coming from the outside dream is usually transferred to the inside dream, thus creating the human belief system, which is referred to as the dream of the planet. Human choose to live the “dream hell” despite the “dream heaven” being close to them. In this case, humans ought to realize that they can agree with their own beliefs and extinguish the undesirable belief system that they have agreed. By establishing a dream of heaven, humans choose what they can believe in since they are the masters of their destiny.

Wait! what is domestication and the dream of the planet and why is it so powerful paper is just an example!

The Toltecs point out that heaven and hell are just “states of mind” which at the same time exists on earth. Through domestication and the dream of the planet, humans may choose to live in hell or heaven since free will is within their own control. Humans are in a position to decide how to react or respond to the events in their lives, and depending on their decisions, they can experience life in a state of heaven or hell.
