My strong desire, physical competence emotional and cognitive traits make me capable of being a nurse. I have prepared myself for the role of nursing my whole life. The preparation has included meeting the required academic qualifications and taking an interest in community service from a young age.
My entire life, I have wanted to become a nurse. As far back as I can remember, I have had inspirational models to drive my desire to be a part of the medical profession. The intense passion and conviction mean that I am willing to work hard to be a nurse. The conviction also means that when I become a nurse, I am eager to work for my community regardless of the challenges I might face as a medical professional. I believe I possess the mental attitude, physical capacity, and emotional competence to become a nurse.
My emotional qualification for nursing is inspired by observing my aunt and my uncle. My uncle is a doctor and my nurse is a nurse, both of them working in a poor community. In the village where my family lives, my aunt and my uncle have always inspired me because they derive satisfaction from helping the poor and unfortunate members of their community, regardless of the ability to pay. Part of the reason I want to become a nurse is a strong determination to follow in their example. This emotional attachment to childhood heroes prepares me for nursing because I have experienced firsthand the benefits of medical expertise in poor communities.

As I mentioned earlier, I grew up in a poor community, where most people did not have access to basic healthcare. My aunt and uncle are inspirational because their actions were essential to the community. Even if they were to demand payment, they would still be important to the community because they were providing essential service where it was needed. The physical experiences in my childhood, such as observing the crowded clinics, lack of emergency service and a gap between community education and ideal health lifestyles have prepared me mentally for the task of being a nurse. I have my mind set on improving the conditions of my community, even if I participate in one of several areas that need to be addressed. I believe that healthcare is among the most critical services a community needs.
Physically, I meet all required qualifications to practice nursing. The goal of nursing education is to train competent nurses to deliver nursing services to the community (Gaberson et al. 98-9). While I do not think that disabilities should restrict professional aspirations, it is also true that they can limit the scope of application, especially in sensitive disciplines such as clinical nursing (Gaberson et al. 99). My physical condition makes me capable of becoming a competent nurse. Nursing is an extraordinary profession because it requires the provision of community service. A nursing professional is much more than their education.
The field requires the proper collection of attitudes, values and above all, an inclination to provide care where needed (Gaberson et al. 96). Nursing is unique in this essence because clinical nursing is about providing a conducive environment for patient recovery, hence the importance of empathy and compassion incompetent individuals. Looking at the scope of the profession, I have a firm belief that I am capable of being an excellent nurse regarding technical proficiency and regarding personal physical, mental and emotional traits.
