Motivating Roche Employees
The establishment of motivational life skill program in Roche Pharmaceuticals would serve a significant purpose. The pharmaceutical industry tends to be a stressful field that requires one to be keen on his daily activities (Peyer, 1996). Therefore, the establishment of such a program would help individuals in the company to get hold of the levels of stress in their day to day life. Hence motivation of employees to work towards excellence in the alignment with the organization priorities. Thus, their production plan will be effective leading to the increase in dividends to shareholders and attracting more investors to be part of the group.
Based on our knowledge, it is definite that the pharmaceutical knowledge is stressful thus not everyone is proficient at it. Therefore, Roche as an organization bears this challenge of employees being stressful thus demoralizing their morale to work (Peyer, 1996). Therefore, the head management of the company might consider training their employees on how to handle stress, balance their work life and self-excellence. Such steps will help employees in motivating themselves on the long-term basis, and they will grow alongside building a sustainable growth in Roche Pharmaceuticals. Also, they will also be able to establish a strong working force that acts as a boost to the company’s growth.
Giving employees opportunities for advancement in Roche Pharmaceuticals is also another way that the management might consider observing.

We understand that employees get motivation when they are working towards a particular goal (Peyer, 1996). Hence, when workers lack such opportunities they tend not to be effective in their work. Therefore, Roche should perhaps consider offering to train to their employees so as to improve their pharmaceutical skills that would propel them to higher ranks in the company. To the young and upcoming workers grooming them is also a vital step since it will build the reputation of the Roche pharmaceuticals as a great place to work.
Roche employees are not well empowered from my point of view. Hence, if they could at least empower their employees by enabling them with a say in how they do their job, it would be significant. For instance, you could ask employees of their inputs as well as getting suggestions on how they can improve their performance. Since employees have ideas of how they could enhance their performance, it is likely that they may not share with you unless you ask them. Therefore, as one of the top management, I would ensure that I regularly employee reviews to discuss these improvements. Hence, such acts tend to motivate employees, and it is always advisable to implement them. Also, Roche could motivate employees by giving them the power to make their decisions, such as the provision of services to clients up to a certain point without enquiring prior for approval.
Better communication is also a vital role that Roche should consider in motivating their employees. For instance if a manager tends to communicate with employees only through newsletters or email, there is the tendency that employees will not have the tendency to meet the organizational goal. Hence, the importance of communication should always be regularly overlooked. As a Roche manager, it would serve you right if you could interact with employees at personal levels. Such acts tend to motivate employees and develop the attitude that they are valued. It is also known that communication in person with employees is one of the best ways in which you can show appreciation for their work well done.
