Why Are You Pursuing a Career as a Nurse?
The dream of becoming a nurse came into my mind when I was seven years old. My father is a doctor and seeing the happiness he had after treating people from my community; it inspired me to be in the nursing field. During holidays, I had to accompany my father to wok just to help nurses with some light duties within the healthcare environment. All the time, I witnessed how nurses were providing care and even encouraging patients on what to do so that they would recover quickly. The personal relationship that existed between the nurses and patient is what made me more interested in this field. Also, my dream was to find a job which I would be able to socialize and even help the whole nation irrespective of tribe or race.
Another thing that I considered is to work in a field which I can learn continuously and gain more knowledge. Nursing provides one with an opportunity to learn continuously and share skills and abilities with other workers on a daily basis (Fawcett & McCulloch 55). For instance, as a nurse, I can work in different departments and meet with different medical assistance whom we can share life challenges. Also, I am always glad to see people are healthy and they are doing their daily chores happily. The nursing field is the best area which can make people happy and even educate them how they can stay away from certain chronic diseases. Apart from socializing, nursing provides me with a diverse job opportunity along with my career.

There are few job carriers which can allow one to take different path while still working.
For example, in addition to my nursing degree, I can specialize in other areas such as the pharmaceutical nurse, pediatric nurse, army nurse, oncology nurse, plastic surgery nurse among many others.
Nursing allows one to explore different continents and learn how people survive. With my degree, I can be able to travel and work anywhere as long as I have the skills and knowledge. One does not necessarily require any facility or equipment to help the community. For example, my skills can become useful during a pandemic or even an accident. Hence, I can say nursing skills are entirely portable, and it is easy for me to practice in any country. Also, traveling will give me a chance to experience different cultures that would strengthen my ability and be able to provide the best care to the community.
I love doing something that has some challenges since it will always make me busy throughout the year. In nursing, I can experience challenges especially if there is a disease outbreak. Participating in activities which will help people to find a solution to their problems is what I am interested in. Hence, nursing career gives me a chance to make a difference in my family, friends, and the nation at large (Bennett 98). Also, job security is something which I considered before choosing my career. Nursing has great job security, and there is no way an individual can miss a chance after completing his or her studies. Thus, nurses are always in demand given that doctors cannot work alone in the medical field. Lastly, the flexible schedules provided in the nursing field allow one to take the best shift that would make him or her comfortable. For me, I love working during the day and rest at night.
