My Best Friend Dominic Character Sketch
Dominic is not only my best friend but also my closest cousin. I do not think I would replace him with anyone else. Interestingly, I am named after his father, and we were born in the same year and the same month but though on different dates. We have gone through very many things together, both in good times and during bad times. It is also fascinating to note that we went to the same junior school, passed well in our exams and joined the same high school. However, after high school, we joined different colleges. Dominic knows almost everything about, and I also know quite a lot about him as we are usually open to each other. He is a friend I am very proud to be associated with, and I can bet he feels the same way too. Long live our friendship.
One of the main among the very many reasons that Dominic has always remained to be my closest friend is due to the fact that he is an honest guy and someone whom you can trust. I am almost a hundred percent sure that whenever he tells me anything, he is always speaking the truth. Likewise, I am always open to him and have never lied to him apart from instances which I think are obvious in any healthy relationship. When it comes to trust, I must admit that he is even more trustworthy than I am. He means whatever he says and barely even make a lie. His trustworthiness hasn’t gone unrecognized since he has always had leadership positions since we were young.

For instance when we in junior school, he was the chairman of the Christian Union as well as an environment captain. As a matter of fact, he is currently the “President” of the college that he went to after we finished our high school. Personally, I can always trust him with some of my deepest secrets as I know he can never tell anyone.
Apart from being honest and trustworthy, Dominic is also one of the funniest guys I have met. Whenever I am feeling a bit down and stressed, I always call him if at all we are not in the same place and by the end of the conversation I always feel cheerful and rejuvenated. As such, during family gatherings, he is always the master of ceremony as he cracks everyone’s ribs including our elderly grandparents. Any time you talk with Dominic, one is always assured of laughing after every few minutes regardless of how serious the situation is. He always has a way of bringing out a joke out of any situation. I can recall during one of my uncle’s burial ceremony five years ago when he was given a chance to read the tribute on behalf of the cousins. After reading the tribute, he gave his personal memories with our uncle and by the time he was sitting down everybody was smiling despite the mourning atmosphere that was there. He is quite admirable.
Finally, I can conclude by saying that though we have been through several ups and downs and had some conflicts once in a while, Dominic is the kind of friend that you would not imagine losing. He is caring, loving, kind, gentle, honest, real, just to name but a few of the very many characters he has. Whenever I am upset, he always tries to cheer me. He not only cares about people in his family lineage but cares about the whole community. He is always thinking about other people not only him, and he tries the best not to make anyone left out. I think you can now see, and I have a great and amazing friend. I am not very sure what I would do without him, but I rest assured I would be lost. Long live our friendship.
