Date: 05 March 2018
Subject: Transfer Request
I am writing to appeal consideration of an inter-service transfer from the Army National Guard to the Active Duty Air Force. A career at Active Duty Airforce will allow me the flexibility of training near home and being near my family. I will also be able to maintain a civilian profession until needed. The other reason for my request is that I prefer wearing a uniform regularly. Active Duty Airforce will guarantee me this opportunity together with that of being a full-time member of the military to satisfy my financial expertise (Curthoys 1). Active Duty officers are compensated for all the time spent during drilling and deployment.
As a full-time service member, I will have unlimited access to full-time professional training. I want to have a more practical career, learn new aspects and gain more experience. Since January 2017, I have worked as a strength manager AG for 2/34th IBCT HHC. This position has enabled me to understand the operational aspect of assessing mission tasking. Despite having gained a myriad of experiences from my current post in the Guard, I prefer being a full-time participant in military service.
I chose the Air Force because, currently, the Army has no position within my 42 B branch. As from ROTC, I have always strived to be in the military serving my country at the defense level. After working in the National Guard for many years now, I have figured out that if I am going to wear the uniform, it will be appropriate to wear it daily as opposed to occasionally.

Wait! Airforce Memo paper is just an example!

I also want to develop valuable skills and character traits such as intelligence, cyber operations, space tasks, battlefield Airmen, and aircraft maintenance that are available in the Air Force (Curthoys 1).
I am grateful that you had a chance to go through my memo and I hope that you will consider my request. The details for contact for this memo are the signatory at 2/34 Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 700 Corporal Snedden Drive, Bonne, Iowa 50036.
