Abstract
Amelia Earhart is known to be the first female pilot pioneers of the world. She is remembered as the first female to fly across the Atlantic alone. She has contributed positively in the aviation sector. She multitasked as an author, university lecturer and the vice president of the airline industry. She utilized that opportunity to advocate the fact that flight should not be feared because in future it will be part of normal life. Earhart disappearance ordeal has remained controversial.

Amelia Earhart made it into the book of history for being the first woman on the global to fly alone across the Atlantic Ocean. Additionally, she achieved many records in her entire career. Her career in aviation was between 1928 to 1937 lasting for one decade. Many admirers around the world, especially in the United States, were devastated by her disappearance in 1937 when she tried to circumnavigate the earth (Burke, 2007). Her corporate social responsibility was to promote the advancement of women in the field of aviation and the advancement of commercial aviation in the airplane industry.
In detail, Amelia Mary Earhart was born in 1897 in a town called Atchison located in Kanas. At age nine, she completed Hyde Park high school based in Chicago, Illinois. In 1917, she attended to wounded victims of the world war one in Toronto, Canada in a hospital called Spadina Military Convalescent Hospital where she worked as a volunteer (Howe & Morrison, 1998).

Her volunteer ship enabled her to join Columbia University in New York for a pre-med course. After one semester of medical school, she quit and joined her parents who were leaving in Los Angeles, California. Frank Hawks guided her in her first flight in 1920. In 1928, Amelia Earhart was a passage in a flight that toured Newfoundland, Wales and Burry Port and this made her a celebrity. George Palmer, a New York newspaper editor, asked her if she was hoping to be the first female to fly across the Atlantic (Howe & Morrison, 1998). She bravely agreed on that. In 1932, she shocked the world when she flown alone over the Atlantic as the first women to ever do that. Her achievement shocked the world because she did prove to the world and herself that her being the first female passenger on the plane was no joke. In 1928, she was just a passenger on a plane; she mocked herself by comparing her journey as a passenger in a plane as that of her being “a sack of potatoes that was incorporated the log”( Howe & Morrison, 1998).
Consequently, after the successful achievement of being the first female to fly across the Atlantic alone, she settled down into a paying career. She multitasked as an author, university lecturer and the vice president of the airline industry. She utilized that opportunity to advocate the fact that flight should not be feared because in future it will be part of normal life. Her achievement was featured in many books such as alone from Hawaii to California published in 1935, transatlantic crossing published in 1932, among many others. Putnam has her manager who later married her. But, she had no plan of having her children (Shore, 1987). Additionally, she maintained her profession name refusing to take her husband`s name. Many viewed her decision as her reviling her feminism card publicly. People said her marriage was more of a business relationship than that bounded by love. She was the first president of the Ninety-nines that was an organization aimed at nurturing women pilots.
Simultaneously, Amelia Earhart had a strong passion for flight. In short, she flew because she was willing to. Her idealistic personalities enabled her to do the best actions of her entire life. She served as an aviation counselor and consultant on women career empowerment at Purdue University. She was excited by the job that she called her plane “the flying laboratory (Shore, 1987).” This excitement pushed her into having more ambition of flying around the world. She embarked on circumnavigating the world on 2rd July 1937. After covering a distance of 2556 mile range from New Guinea to Howland Island, Amelia and Fred Noonan, who was her navigator, disappeared (Shore, 1987).
To date, Earhart disappearance ordeal has remained controversial. Many people have speculated that Franklin Roosevelt had sent her on a spy mission to Japan where she was captured and remained a Japanese prisoner. Some analysts suggest that Earhart`s plane was out of fuel and sank somewhere around the Howland Island. Besides, Sanderson in his book suggested that Amelia Earhart and her navigator Noonan may have entered in mysterious Lemuria-Mu because they entered another dimension in time and space at the Pacific Triangle. People also suggest that Earhart had bad radio skills and was unable to keep the microphone on or to communicate with the coordinators has it was required. Some people question their pilot skills. Some people say Earhart and Noonan were given new identities, and they are living peacefully in the Philippines or New Jersey (Long, 1999). This made them disappear forever.
The search for Amelia continues despite knowing that finding her is close to impossible. For instance, in 1991 some piece of aluminum debris of aircraft were found in Nikumaroro, and they were believed to be that of Amelia Earhart plane called Lockheed Electra. If this were true, then the idea that Amelia Earhart crashes somewhere around Howland Island would have been incorrect. This is because the debris comes up with another theory that Amelia Earhart and her navigator Noonan made a forced landing at the flat coral reef of Nikumaroro. The two eventually died on atoll from being castaways. The toll was located 350 miles southeast of Howland Island.
Amelia Earhart life was beneficial to the community at large. For instance, her occupation as an aviator removed the myths that female were inferior to male. She set a transcontinental speed record and airspeed record. Hence, this motivated women to join the aviation world. As the president of the Ninety-Nine, she developed funds and scholarship that enabled women to acquire their pilot`s certification and licenses. As a career consultant at Purdue, she was to influence many female to join a career in aviation.
Earhart achievement is counted in the United States national achievements. This is because Amelia Earhart was able to rise when the country was suffering from an economic turmoil. It was a message of hope that even though the country was sinking in economic sabotage, the nation`s will to dominate was still strong. It showed the America dream was still solid and alive and those who worked hard were rewarded accordingly. Earhart was able to flourish in a male dominated field. It portrays the United States as the country that respects civil right movement and value women accordingly. The view that Earhart was able to do a man`s job and executed it effectively clearly paints the picture that the United State is truly the land of democracy and opportunity.
More ever, Earhart contributed positively to the aviation sector. So far, she is the girl to beat for any upcoming female pilot. She able to set the transcontinental flight record, first person ever to fly alone from Honolulu to Hawaii to Oakland, she hold the speed record for flying from Mexico City to Newark, she hold the record of being the first female to fly an autogiro with an altitude range of 18, 415 ft and the second person on earth to fly alone across the Atlantic and be able to do it twice. Therefore, the aviation sector pays tribute to this great legend of all time.
About the current event, the missing of Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan remained one of the mysteries unsolved aviation cases of the 20th century. Currently, the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is another unsolved aviation disappearance case of the 21st century shading away the incidence of Earhart and Fred Noonan ordeal. Earhart mysterious disappearance overshadowed her courage, legacy, dedication and an inspirational leader of women.
Concerning that, Amelia Earhart is known to be the first female pilot pioneers of the world. She is remembered as the first female to fly across the Atlantic alone. She has contributed positively in the aviation sector. So far, she is the girl to beat for any upcoming female pilot. She made people embrace flight and currently flight is the best mode of transport. She motivated women to join the aviation world.
