Effects of the Cold War
The Cold War triggered intervention as well as the signing of treaties in many countries. This was aimed to prevent the Soviet influence from prevailing in the various nations (McGarr 91). Due to the increase in war, nations such as the U.S established protests movements. The movements were not part of the military but were supposed to counter the commotion.
The war made life in the U.S unbearable. War was sporadic and sometimes extreme, and this made the daily social as well as economic activity challenging. Also, it was difficult to access the basic commodities such as food, medical care, school, and security. This made people suffer from different kinds of diseases.
Cold War substantially affected many factors in Western Europe. It led to the rise and commotion of two opposing values: democracy as well as capitalism (McGarr 14). This was during the second phase of the 20th Century. The result was the rise of communism as well as authoritarianism. As the two topmost superpowers, the Soviet Union and America gradually formed a public enmity.
Moreover, the war profoundly affected the relationship between nations in the central as well as those in the eastern part of Europe. There was tension which led to protests in the streets at different times of the war. The union republics joined hands to form the USSR. These nation joined forces and stood firmly to oppose America. They worked to protect their boundaries and industries (McGarr 14).

Notably, the nations which participated in the cold war played a significant role in spearheading and ending colonization. They participated in the scramble and partioni9ng of colonies.
The fact that the war was fueled by propaganda more than military engagement made it pervasive. It was fostered by different factors such as commotions, treaties, and other disagreements. This factor made it sporadic since at different times it was thought to have ended, but this was not the case (McGarr 17). The retaliation and time to time involvement of the military in the war contributed in making it rigorous.
