Evolution and lies on social networks

The doctor. D. Rafael Ángel Barrio Paredes, from the Institute of Physics of the UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico), directed a study that followed that lies on social networks appear regularly, very similar to how they would do it in ordinary life. This international study used a specific method of study on a telephone network in the European Union. Its purpose: evaluate how and how lies evolve in the networks. They turn out to be almost everyday. The innovation of this work was the use of a mathematical model, through which it was surprisingly feasible.

As a result, it was concluded that lying was something of the most routine and habitual: “Although we are taught that missing the truth is bad and we must act honestly, we learn to lie, sometimes sophisticated, but we do not stop doing it in any type of human society and it is something that other primates also do, such as chimpanzees ”

In his article "Effects of Diseption in Social Networks", the authors of this study consider two types of lies in the networks:

  •  White or prosocial lies are usually a positive connotation, arise for a good reason and do not negatively affect people.
  •  Black or antisocial lies: resource with a harmful and offensive connotation, are conducted online anomal.

The team components published their conclusions in the magazine “Proceedings of the Royal Society B.”, Stating that:

Wait! Evolution And Lies On Social Networks paper is just an example!

  •  "The lies in social networks called white or prosocial – in which the benefit of missing the truth is for the receiver – balancing, unite society, offer diversity of opinions to the virtual group and help maintain broad social relationships".
  •  "In contrast, black or antisocial lies – egoists and useful only for which the links are emitted, because they encourage distrust, are harmful since they disrupt the network breaking the leagues when they feel all deceived".

With the passage of time the network is structured in balanced virtual communities, in which its users far from lying less, they do more. As a positive fact, we have the reading that antisocial lies decrease in large numbers, and on the contrary, prosocials increase greatly.
