Scholarship Application Essay
The decision to apply for a Masters in Business Administration partly comes from the experience I have attained while working in large organizations across India. The request for the scholarship position at the Nanyang MBA program additionally comes from the realization that my undergraduate education, plus the workplace experience I have attained, are not sufficient to meet my professional ambitions. I am currently 28 years with a family and financially unable to meet both the tuition fee and allied expenses as stipulated in the Nanyang MBA program.
Achievement and Accomplishments
There is a range of milestones I have achieved while in college and immediately after the undergraduate studies. These include but are not limited to; I was the house captain and the class representative while in college. I proactively participated in a plethora of extra-curriculum activities such as sports and music. I studied mechanical engineering in one of the top higher learning institutions in India Odisha and graduated among the top 10% in my class. I was the winner of a regional level Mathematics Contest christened Mathematics Olympiad that was organized and managed by the Chotanagpur Mathematical Society. Other than the above-mentioned milestones, there is a range of accomplishments I attained as part of my professional experience while working in organizations and institutions across India. I worked in an engineering firm as an operations and maintenance engineer after the undergraduate studies.

Based on periodic employee performance appraisals, I managed to be a star performer in the organization and consequently helped the corporation to close millions of rupees in sales and revenues. I am additionally a proud holder of the Lean Six Magma Green Belt award.
Ambitions and Future Expectations
As a fully certified mechanical engineer, I believe there is a lot I can bring to the table if awarded a scholarship at the Nanyang MBA Program. I plan to be a leading example to fellow colleagues at the institution by advocating for team work, collaboration and collective thinking. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I have always championed for a collective working spirit because projects in mechanical engineering demand the attention and creative contribution of a group of people. Solving a solution further requires a team of engineers and specialists to work towards a common goal and to participate in the realization of both simple and daunting technical projects. Therefore if awarded the scholarship I will instill the above philosophy to fellow colleagues at the Nanyang MBA program.
An important part of my ambition and future expectation is to contribute to the industrial and economic transformation of China – by being part and parcel of the rising generation of engineers that will spearhead the above change. I look at the scholarship as an opportunity to attain transformative knowledge and skills that will be relevant to changing industrial needs. Therefore if offered the MBA scholarship at the Nanyang Program, I plan to use that opportunity to join the rising generation of engineers who will bring the economic and industrial dream of China to fruition. Part of my ambition and goal is to constantly improve myself, to enhance my skillset, and to be of significance to my family, community, and society at large – by bringing ideas and contributions that will shape the society; whether at a political, economic, or industrial standpoint.
Conclusion
It is a personal believe that the Nanyang institution will consider the above plea for a scholarship position. The MBA scholarship is part and parcel of my professional ambition for the time I have worked in an organizational capacity. I am convinced that the scholarship will contribute to my dream as a mechanical engineer and further empower me to develop the knowledge and skills needed to work across professional platforms. I strongly believe the Nanyang institution is a leading institution that will offer quality education much needed to meet the ever-growing needs of the economy and the society at large.
