Sustainable Fire Department Programs
Introduction
The Fire Department is responsible for fire clampdown and rescue; advanced life support emergency medical services; vehicle detachment; hazardous response in materials and high angle. The Department is also responsible for ensuring confined space and swift water rescues; explosive ordnance disposal; gas well response; fire cause determination; emergency management; fire and life safety inspections; special events public safety; public health; community service; civic education; oversight of ambulance performance; and homeland security grant administration. The mission of Texas Fire Department team’s task is to meet and exceed the needs of the community, and prospects through providing high quality response to emergency, life safety and community support services (Windisch Fred and Crosby 100). There is a need for all the departments of fire to be consolidated and achieve a holistic fire prevention plan through drafting out a comprehensive plan for acquisition of fire prevention equipment for a fire prevention programs.
Goals and objectives
The general objectives of fire prevention program are to make use of the targeted initiatives and best practices and policies for the industry with the aim of fostering a safe environment. The fire prevention program is also meant to improve the quality of life and place plan, managing and maintaining public assets (Pynes 34)The broader mind of these policies s to maintain too the standards of the state of Texas.

These programs will ensure availability of information, State services and programs. Providing for efficient access and suitable management of the data of the cities is a crucial goal towards the achievement of fire prevention programs. As it is the intention of any city developers, fire prevention programs will ensure that organizational sustainability is promoted through recruiting, retaining and developing outstanding employees. Fire prevention plan also ensures that there is cost recovery and therefore increases funding for the cities.
Budget Highlights
The final year 2015 expenditures are directly impacted by salary adjustments that range from 2% to 7.9% for all sworn employees and a portion of 2% compensation change for civilian employees. Raises were affected by the beginning of January 2015. Four fire fighter positions that are grant funded are moving to General Fund as grant funding ceases. The following is a tentative budget for the entire State.
Description Costs expected($billion) Available funds($billion) Deficit ($billion)
Heavy Fleet Replacement (1 engine, 1 boat) 7 5 2
Grant Firefighters to General Fund 4 2 2
Uniform and Protective Gear Replacement 5 1.2 3.8
Station Staffing for Unscheduled Leave 3 1.33 1.67
Non-Target Fleet Maintenance 4.5 1.58 2.92
Grant-Funded Equipment Replacement 3.8 1.28 2.52
TOTALS 27.3 12.39 14.91
Since there is a serious deficit, replacement of heavy fleet machinery should be cost effective, station staffing should cater only for scheduled leaves and grant-funded equipment should be increased.
Adjusted budget
Description Costs expected ($billion) Available funds($billion) Deficit ($billion)
Heavy Fleet Replacement (1 engine, 1 boat) 4.3 5 -0.7

TOTALS 12.39 12.39 0
Expected Department Revenue Highlights for Financial Year 2015 ($billion)

TOTALS 12.39
Each year during the past decade, about 150 Texans have died in fires (Fehrenbach Theodore 656) The State Fire Marshal’s Office is committed to reducing this alarming statistic. Analysis of fire statistics shows that the vast majority of fires —and the resulting fire deaths — could have been prevented. Regretfully, most people do not know or practice even simple actions that can prevent fires and burns.
This program supersedes other program because of the raising concerns that there is continued ravage of fire for both property and human life. As a policy make in the Department of Fire for Texas, I have thus drafted a comprehensive plan to ensure that fire is no longer a menace.
The Job of Fire Prevention
The implementation of fire prevention policies have led better improved lives and lower risks of fire ravage. Several instances have indicated that a life would have been saved had the fire been prevented. The idea of fire prevention has therefore to be reinvented with a greater zeal for the residents of Texas. The greater program would therefore be to instill to the minds of people the risk of fire through teaching the same program every week to students apart from drafting comprehensive plans to minimize the risk of fire. The mentality of the people of US is that fire only happens to other people and that they are insured even when such an event happens to them
Some firefighters may receive their drill prevention of fire, but this does not mean they are being taught by someone who has had formal training or that person had received some training on the job. The efforts to change the present fire prevention policies have not borne fruit and it is the high time we realized the need for a comprehensive fire prevention plan that will make sure that there are no loop holes like in the past. We really need to change the way we train The responsibility to conduct inspection has to be accompanied with proper certification. If there is no enough training for the people doing inspection, mistakes begin from there. This may as well lead to improper enforcement of the present code. An efficient and effective fire prevention program that makes of trained and knowledgeable persons for inspection may avert many fire threats. If we enforce our codes, we will have played an important role towards the enhancement of this policy.
Model building code and life safety codes have been in existence for protecting both life and property, but many government officials do not enforce these laws or even adopt them for enforcement for fear of repercussions (Gaines, Larry, and Victor E. 324). The whole issue turns political when a fire prevention bureau is formed instead of all citizens assuming a moral responsibility for the sake of risk of fire. Citizens end up transferring the duty to protect life towards fire service. Everybody does not want the government to tell them what to do but they want things done for them.
Time and Service
One thing we require in our fight against fire is authentication and certification as one advance in the knowledge of fire mitigation (Pan, 252).The experience in the community can also help increase requirement for knowledge in the fight of fire.
Conclusion
Owing to the fact that many constituents are not used to such a program, constituents will have to increase tax levies in their respective cities. If the opportunity was to raise taxes, I would choose ObamaCare policy because it would touch directly on the revenue of the people. The policy is well known and would require some small campaign program to be accepted by the people.
