HIV and AIDS is a health condition that affects all societies and communities in the world. HIV is a sexually transmitted disease based on a virus that weakens people by destroying white blood cells responsible for a person’s immunity leading to AIDS which is a state of lack of adequate immunity in the body. Statistics show that more than thirty million people are living with HIV and this makes it a global issue. The infection is permanent, and this means that there is no cure, but there are ways of reducing the viral load which helps people manage the condition for many years. According to information from the CDC, three essential ways of infection include having unprotected sex with an infected person, being born by a mother who is infected and sharing sharp objects such as needles and razors with an infected person (HIV a Global Issue, 2018).
HIV and AIDS is a global issue because of the large number of people it affects. It, therefore, has a great implication on social and economic aspects of societies and communities because it reduces the number of healthy individuals. It also bears great risks of death when the viral load is too high. The larger health care system is greatly affected because of the need for large-scale health interventions needed to manage the diseases and reduce the risks of infection. It is a disease that disrupts communities, leaving many children orphaned and reducing economic growth and eroding civil order.

It is a disease that is most rampant in developing nations, and rates will probably rise because of weak health infrastructure, social inequalities, and poverty (HIV/AIDS, 2018).
Continents, regions, countries, and states are impacted significantly by the need for investment in ways of controlling the spread of the disease. A lot of capital and resources is diverted from development to the health sector because of a large number of people affected. It has thus led to its development as an aspect of the vicious cycle of poverty in many developing nations. As a global issue, governments and other institutions such as the CDC, WHO, UNAID develop measures of reducing the risks of infections and ways of reducing the impacts of the disease in many communities (HIV a Global Issue, 2018).
The healthcare delivery system plays a critical role in the prevention of infection as well as the control and managing of HIV and AIDS. They are great sources of information and awareness about the risks of infection and ways of preventing it. One of the greatest risk factors associated with HIV and AIDs is the lack of awareness and information about prevalence, infection rates, prevention methods and other information. The use of protection is a major positive factor in the fight against HIV infection and is thus a great mandate for healthcare systems through various institutions to promote it. Healthcare systems include healthcare stakeholders that include facilities such as clinics hospitals. They also include healthcare insurance companies and their different plans, governments and other institutions dealing with health care such as CDC and WHO. They all need to work together collaboratively to ensure that people are aware of the risks involved and provide adequate health care measures for controlling and managing the condition.
