The chapter examines the concept of human security at the international levels and its contribution to global development. Different interventions and policies influence various aspects of human security. The chapter provides a reliable concept regarding human and the key drivers of human security. What stood out most in the study is the analysis of international interventions in establishing human security. To support this topic chapter, the author explains a detailed aspect of the impact of reformist and national interest in adopting impactful actions regarding human security. International institutions such as the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) have not been left behind in securing global security. As a result, the chapter creates a public understanding of human security and its underlying imperatives which explain the institution as an operative tool for policy formulation and implementation. It also stands out as the main security issues linked to government policies that fail to address human security needs.
The chapter examines issues of gender and security which explains them as the core factors required for understanding security. It enhances the way male and female individuals understand issues linked to international policies which govern conflicts, terrorism, and war. It stood out in explaining different notions of gender which are placed at the center of debates linked to security. Moreover, the chapter distinguishes practical and the discursive aspects between gender and security.

For instance, it demonstrated how women in the military are practically exemplified during military conflicts. On the other hand, it also explains the discursive aspects of security from the traditional connection between military and masculinity and creating peace. The chapter summarizes the key concepts by creating an understanding of the way men and women relate to insecurity issues and how debates can be improved by considering gender-based challenges in addressing human security.
