Influence of video games on criminal behavior

Introduction.

As we know, we are currently surrounded by technology and many media. In this writing I will be exposing my opinion about how I think and I think so much in electronic, newspaper, magazines, internet, movies and even in music we can find messages that refer to what crime is.

Criminality is an issue that is always present in the life of any citizen, either because he has read it from somewhere or has taken security measures in his home and his family to avoid any situation. Next, I will present my point of view and talk about how the media influence crime. Technology has advanced a lot in recent years and every day that goes advanced by leaps and bounds.

Developing.

Let’s start talking about how we find, in my opinion, an influence of crime in newspapers or magazines. We are very clear that the news that captures the attention of the audience is the ones that, so to speak, sound or seem to be the bloodiest. When the content of the news begins to be read, we realize that the crime is narrated as apparently committed, be it a shooting, stab, theft, kidnapping etc. In that news just because they had the thought of wanting to know how to commit a crime.

There are many people with a little deviated thought and seeing news as they also decide to take action and commit a dependent crime in their diverted thoughts guided by the behavior of the subject who appeared in the newspaper committing a crime.

Wait! Influence Of Video Games On Criminal Behavior paper is just an example!

They can copy the behavior of the criminal who appeared in that news just because they had the thought of wanting to know how to commit a crime. There are many people with a little deviated thought and seeing news as they also decide to take action and commit a dependent crime in their diverted thoughts guided by the behavior of the subject who appeared in the newspaper committing a crime.

There are many people with a little deviated thought and seeing news as they also decide to take action and commit a dependent crime in their diverted thoughts guided by the behavior of the subject who appeared in the newspaper committing a crime.

The same goes for the Internet, today we have the ease of entering the Internet and navigating as much as we want, but unfortunately not everyone uses the internet for educational purposes. On the Internet you can find many things that influence criminal behavior, such as portals that are reading and within them we can find many stories, either romance, action, comedy etc. Currently almost no one reads comedy and romance stories much less, there are very few who read this style, however, many people read action, terror and suspense.

We must be honest, within each of these stories we can find a reference to some criminal conduct, either by the vocabulary, or by it, if there is talk of theft, kidnapping or murder this already falls within whatwhich is a clear influence on the reader’s criminal conduct. Albert Bandura did an experiment, the experiment of the Bobó doll and based on that study that made that the criminal behavior was learned, because in its experiment I use a group of children to which he exposed to several situations.

The first group saw normal behavior towards him doll because the adults who are there only played, the second group of children saw criminal behavior towards the doll because the adults were hitting the doll and in the third group there was nothing,There was only an empty room. If what he says is that criminal behavior is learned since the children imitated what they saw in each of the groups to which they belonged.

This is when I repeat that criminal conduct has as a factor the influence of the media since many people can simply decide to copy the behavior that occurs in magazines or newspapers. But not only is the presence of crime in the newspaper or magazines, television also presents an influence of criminal conduct.

The news is the best example of that. As I said previously the most intense and bloody headlines that are seen are the ones that will capture the attention of the people and thanks to that it is that the only thing that is spoken in the news is of crimes. Here the influence can be a bit more direct, because being listening and seeing the images that present the information comes much faster and is better understood.

Television has enough influence from my point of view because in addition to the news we find movies that pass through its different channels. And as I said before, as the audience only looks for "interesting" things or "cool" things the production shares them by sharing this type of films, thus achieving another influence on criminal conduct, what do I mean by this with this? Well, at this point I am not only referring to young people or adults, in this part we are already starting to talk about children.

Both young people and children have a favorite superhero or actor, it is here when we talk about the behavior learned again. The thought of these people is based on several things:

  • He is my favorite actor / superhero I want to be like him.
  • I want to do all the things he does.
  • He is my idol and I want to look like him.

These are just some of the things that go through the minds of these people who want to look like their ‘idols’ regardless of whether it is criminal or aggressive behavior, if it is their favorite character they will want to be like them. This goes from their way of dressing, talking and even behaving. The cartoons are also influential, currently the animations for children are being a bit explicit, I have seen them more aggressive, with a slightly less careful language and a behavior that is not correct that a child audience observes and thanks to this it isthat violence among children has been growing more and more. Innocence,

Young people need to create more awareness than is good and what is bad, they need more education in the house and more care of their parents with such delicate issues as this of criminal influence on the media, but if a young man needseducation and supervision, a child needs double. They are the future of our country and need to be educated under correct values and principles, leaving violence behind and helping them to be more human, sensitive and responsible. A study was conducted and the results said the children spent at least 4 hours in front of the TV, also says that every half hour there are 23 violent scenes which is quite terrible, because the audience becomes immune the more violence sees.

The presence of criminal acts or violence in the media can make people lose interest in helping someone, because being always influenced by that sees it as something totally normal. Here then, what are the electronic games, the PlayStation and the Xbox are electronic devices that have always had a lot of sale and recognition for people, today it is no longer just a children’s game, but also the young people andadults involved in this.

But that’s not what worries, what really worries here are the types of games they have. Some examples of violent games are the GTA, Mortal Kombat, Carmageddon, God of War, etc. Each of these video games that I mentioned have an extreme content of violence and the sad thing is that these games not only fall into the hands of young people or adults, these games also reach the hands of children, which is alarming. While these games can influence adults and young people easily, much faster can influence children. That worth the redundancy, a study conducted says that young people become violent because of video games.

These games, in my personal opinion are games that all they have is violence and that manages to alter people’s behavior, either in the vocabulary, character or influence that this can have to make a criminal act. A study in 2014 shows that young people and children who play with games have aggressive thoughts and behaviors. This study was done in Singapore with more than 3,000 participants.

Regardless of sex or age, if they spend a lot of time in front of a console with aggressive games, their behavior will change from a ‘normal’ to one ‘out of the norm’. There is a lot. It is a pity that despite so much technology and advances that exist today we do not know how to take advantage of it properly and what we do is be much more attentive to the negative.

Likewise, the radio influences this behavior a bit, many stations take some criminal acts that seem less important as funny and that in my opinion is something that should not be done for reason. The person who feels tempted or influenced to commit a criminal act can take this action as normal within the situation and will not pay attention to what would really be correct. That is why I repeat that when the media will give information take into account that not many people take things to matchThis as funny and they will eat criminal acts without thinking about what is right or wrong

Conclusions.

After having exposed my thoughts regarding this issue I conclude that the media are actually a very large influence on people’s criminal compartment, since crimes are shown as they happened and that makes people get ideas fromhow a criminal act is carried out and in a way they motivate them to imitate that action. Both the press, radio, movies and as video games are strong influential in this issue, they have many ways to disguise violence, or at least try to do it with subliminal images and messages but what they manage to do with this is that the audience wantsimitate what he sees every day around him,
