Islamic extremism
Introduction
Islamic extremism is defined as the application of extreme beliefs to fight for democracy, individual freedom and fighting against other religions other than Islam. It should be noted that not all Muslims hold extreme beliefs hence not all Muslim worshippers can be tied to extremism. Religious extremists are individuals that have no boundaries for their actions as long as they believe their faith approves their actions. Extremists are people that have been radicalized and have been made to believe that their actions have got no consequences since they will be rewarded as their faith demands. The United States has fallen victim of Islamic extremism leading to human death, injuries and property damage. The most memorable extremist attack to the US was carried out on the eleventh day of September the year 2001 by the Al Qaeda, an Islamic extremist group. The attacks conducted in 2001 showed that the United States is not safe from extremists and it needed to come up with measures to combat their actions. Recently, the Orlando shootings that resulted in almost fifty deaths were conducted by an individual alleged to the Islamic State. Therefore, measures need to be taken to avert instances of extremism in the US as a way of promoting the security of the Americans.
Measures
Most of the extreme individuals have been radicalized by being subjected to make-beliefs that are inclined towards their religion. Firstly, the United States should endeavor to reduce the rate of radicalization among its citizens.

There is a stereotype that individuals that carry out violent attacks for extremist groups come from poor backgrounds, but in most cases, this is just a speculation. Therefore, law enforcement officials should avoid relying on stereotypes because innocent individuals may be apprehended while the radicalized ones are free and can carry out attacks as they wish. Stereotypes should be prevented by all means since they contribute to the wrongful conviction of suspects and hence the need for law enforcement agencies to rely on facts. Parents and guardians should be mandated to watch the behaviors of their kids since they are the ones likely to be radicalized. Guardians that spot change in the behavior of their children should report to the law enforcement agencies to investigate whether the changes in behavior result from radicalization. Cooperation between family members and law enforcement agencies will aid reduce the number of potential individuals that can be radicalized hence translating to reduce extremism linked to Islam.
The universe has undergone globalization due to the existence of the internet hence allowing for people to communicate over vast geographical areas. The internet can form a base for recruiting individuals into extremist organizations such as Islamic State and the Al Qaeda hence the need to monitor communication of suspects. The FBI and NSA should monitor communication over the internet to establish those individuals that are in contact with extremist organizations. Conducting surveillances on suspects and tracking communication between extremist groups and people will help the law enforcement agencies to quickly pinpoint individuals that are likely to allege to extremist groups. Investigations should be conducted by the FBI and NSA because they have the necessary technology of carrying out surveillance on suspects.
The United States is a nation blessed with a powerful military that aims at promoting the security and wellbeing of its citizens and those outside America. The US Military should be mandated to fight extremist groups outside America so as to prevent the ideas of such groups from spreading to other regions. The United States has contributed profoundly in fighting against the Islamic State in Syria hence helping combat the activities of the extremist group. The US Military has been working in collaboration with countries across the globe to fight terrorism. In contributing to the fight against terrorism, the US Military has helped reduce the influence of extreme groups that use violence on innocent people. There have been instances of retaliation attacks on the US, but this has not stopped the US Military from fighting against terrorists. The United States has been phenomenal in global security since it has reduced the spread of extremist views by executing extremists. Therefore, the military should beef up its operations against terrorism as a way of fighting against extremism.
Conclusion
The US has been a target of extremist groups due to its effort of combating terrorism globally, but this has not stopped its military and intelligence agencies from fighting extremism. Attacks have been staged in the United States causing numerous deaths, injuries and property destruction resulting in economic losses but this does not discourage from going after extreme Muslims. The US has come up with measures to combat extremism hence helping fight against terrorism across the globe. Actions that have been adopted include the teaming up of guardians with law enforcement agencies, surveillance on communication using the internet and using the military to fight extremist groups. Bodies that should be mandated to fight Islamic extremism include the FBI, the NSA and the military.
