Macbeth remains relevant in the modern times despite being written a long time ago. The power to control the country with its people gives one great confidence. In the contemporary world, people are doing anything that might make them rise to power and lead others. From the play, greediness prevails facilitated by the character’s need of fulfilling their ambitions. In the current world, aspirations have made people desire to achieve great things without going through the right process. During the time of the play, Macbeth developed great motivation after emerging a hero in the war (Shakespeare, 1877). That made him receive praises and be recognized even by the king. Despite that, he believed and followed the advice of his wives and the witches who were very misleading. That resulted in his tragic demise from his aspirations of getting into power through the wrong process.
Macbeth did not have the lust of rising into power, but his wife forced him into it. In the modern world, people are following other people’s advice instead of following what one loves doing which later leads to the tragic falling. The play illustrates the wrongs that are going on all around the world where people sacrifice others so that they can get to a particular position of power or obtain something that will only benefit themselves (Shakespeare, 1877). The theme of lies has become a common thing among people. Believing in unapproved facts and following them blindly also has seen people fall.

Literature is the base of the society where communication and recording of happenings are done. Writing acts as one of the ways how different events that happen in our community are explained and related in various ways. In the play, literature illustrates the tragedy of the community (Shakespeare, 1877). Also, it connects firmly to the political influences of the time and the present-day influences. Through writing, all that is preserved can be used to evaluate how the society currently works with relations to the past and the factors that led to the present life. Literature reflects cultures of different communities in various ways. From the play, written works are affected by the cultural settings of the place that the writing took place. In the context of the work, the culture of the people allowed them to believe in prophecies from witches and believed in what was told showing a reflection of the society from literature.
The author wrote the play in Britain, a part of the world that was experiencing significant changes both politically and socially. Political influences were high at the time, and Shakespeare reflected that quite clearly in his literary work (Shakespeare, 1877). The play differs from other plays that he wrote in different periods. The works he wrote during the reign of Elizabeth illustrates the happy and opportunistic spirits of people at that time while Macbeth reflects insecurities of the Jacobean period. Form the play; we can learn and reveal the ways of life during the earlier times to the current world. Literature preserves history which can be passed down generations in the form of writing. The literature has helped us reflect the ancient time with the current time and develop various conclusions towards different problems that we are currently experiencing.
