The most favorite topic of the week relates to the central nervous system (CNS). The CNS is made up of the spinal cord and brain. As the most advanced system in human beings, the primary purpose of the CNS is to coordinate various activities in the whole organism (CTE Skills.com, 2017).
The primary functions of the CNS and those of the peripheral nervous system (PNS) are highly related. Typically, the PNS comprises of the ganglia and the nerves that lie on the outer side of the spinal cord and human mind. However, the CNS and the PNS are coordinated to relay data all the way beginning from the brain, the spinal cord and then the entire body (Woolsey, Hanaway, & Gado, 2017). As noted earlier, the CNS is composed of the spinal cord and brain, which are enclosed in the vertebrae and skull vault respectively. The PNS comprises of the cranial jumpy that projects from the mind and passes through the intervertebral foramina and foramina in the skull.
From a career point of view, the knowledge of anatomy has enabled me to identify and describe the internal structure of living things. Furthermore, the understanding forms the basis of practicing health and medicine in the society to alleviate human diseases (Woolsey, Hanaway, & Gado, 2017). One of the most important discoveries with the week’s material involves the connection between the two parts of the human nervous system and their link to the rest of body organs.

Wait! nervous tissue paper is just an example!

Since the topic forms the foundation of human behavior, cognition, and emotions, most adverts in the news revolve around it including hand washing with soap and water (Woolsey, Hanaway, & Gado, 2017). Notably, the activities aimed at preventing the spread of diseases to the nervous system. Besides, the knowledge of anatomy is critical because it will support career legislation in the future, as well as gain career options in health-related professions.
The course textbook was the primary material for reference throughout the week’s learning. Nevertheless, I found it sufficient to utilize external sources including YouTube videos for demonstration and clear understanding of the nervous system. Since the online videos are numerous, I had difficulty while choosing the most appropriate to support my learning. However, in the coming week, I will narrow down the search to retrieve the specific information required for the study.
