Nursing research is a research that gives proofs and evidence that gives support to practices that are used by nurses. Nursing research is mainly done by nurses as a professional in institutions as well as in healthcare facilities. Knowledge is developed by the researching nurses on health, cures, and care of health problems and disabilities (Grove, Burns, & Gray, 2014). The nursing research is important in that it shapes people’s health in different levels, from the individual level and widely to the federal levels.
Research on nursing has influenced the current knowledge on health and also has a great impact on the future of health. Nursing research has also enriched the education sector of students who are studying to be nurses (Nieswiadomy, & Bailey, 2017). Knowledge of learning and improve practitioners as nurses are derived from textbooks, simulations, classrooms, internet and experiences from clinical setups and community health sectors.
Nursing research may not be seen as important when students who are undergraduates are studying. Nursing research becomes important during the experience and interactions with the patients. In some cases, nurses who are in the research field are usually valuable than those in other setups (Grove, Burns, & Gray, 2014). Nurses who work in other settings, for example, reach to the point of retirement while those in the research field do not retire, the field grows and advances in the day to day activities.
