Operant Conditioning
Operant conditioning is a process of behavioural modification by using reinforcement and identifying the relationship between behaviour and its consequences. I will advise him to use diet and exercise based on operant conditioning as he will make the conscious link between the behaviour and its rewards and punishment. I will create a diet and work out a program to help lose weight by incorporating the rewards (Blackman, 2017). Fruit will replace all the snacks within the first week of the program. During the second week, the changes made in the first week will be carried on. Further, the second week will include replacing lunch with a salad.
During the third week, you will eliminate all the junk food from your diet and start eating natural foods. On the fourth week, you will complete diet transformation by having a glass of milk and fruit for breakfast and vegetable salad for lunch. For dinner, you will have a plate of natural foods only and white meat. You will also do workouts three days a week, starting with week one and continuing through to the fourth week. These exercises will include ten squats and five pushups for the first week. On the second week, you will increase squats and pushups by five and begin doing stretches. The process will continue until the fourth week when you will also incorporate yoga exercises.
On successful completion of the objectives of week one, you will reward yourself by reading your favourite book.

Wait! Operant conditioning paper is just an example!

On successful completion of the objective of both week one and two, you will get rewarded by inviting friends over to your home for a video game. Upon completion of the objectives of week three, you will reward yourself by watching the new series on Netflix. Finally, on the achievement of the fourth week’s objectives, you will reward yourself by going out with friends on Saturday night. You will record your weight before starting the program, after week two to keep track of your progress and finally after week four (Blackman, 2017).
