International Events in Which the U.S. Military Got Involved
The Gulf War was a conflict which started when Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990. Notably, the war was triggered by the need by Iraq to acquire the oil fields of Kuwait. The USA became suspicious of the intentions of the Iraq and formed a coalition with some Arab countries to attack Iraq while acting under UN policies. Iraq ignored the UN Security Council directives, and this prompted the USA to launch the attack. The Iraq troops which were being headed by Saddam Hussein responded by attacking the USA as well as the countries which formed the coalition. The coalition attained victory in February 1991 with the destruction of Iraq’s nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons (Schultz 2014).
 The War on Iraq started when four planes of USA were hijacked by Afghanistan and crashed on World Trade Center in 2001.The US blamed the Taliban for the attack and invaded Afghanistan to remove them out. However, President Bush later claimed that Iraq was mostly involved in the hijacking of the plane and the attack of the US. Moreover, President Bush argued that Saddam Hussein was in possession of dangerous weapons of mass destruction. Consequently, US responded by invading Iraq and toppled the Iraq’s government (Bergsten 1992).
Factors that Contributed to the Rise of USA as a Super Power Policeman
The first aspect that contributed to the rise of the USA to super power is the atomic bomb.

The US developed the atomic bomb and launched to Japan, and this led to the calling of conflict in the Pacific.US dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima on the sixth day of August 1941 and another bomb was dropped three days later on Nagasaki. As a result, Japan declared to retaliate to the US in 1941.However, the US troops won the war with the conflict in the Pacific coming to an end (Schultz 2014).
The Spanish–American War took place in 1898 between USA and Spain. The conflict began due to the need of the USA for Spain to solve the Cuban fight for independence with peace. Consequently, US sent the USS Maine which was explored by the Spanish troops. However; the US forces gained victory over Spain in Philippines and Cuba. Additionally, US seized the regions which include the Puerto Rico, the Guam, and the Caroline Islands. US took over Cuba and gave it their independence in 1902(Morse 1947).
The participation of the USA in World War 1 was instigated by the presence of German submarines along the US East coast without authority. The German’s submarine started a war on the coast. Hence the USA declared war on them. The effect of the war was that the Germans sunk a lot of ships in the coast which resulted in the death of many people including 128 Americans.US entered the war and became dominant victors of the World War 1(Schultz 2014).
Incidences where the USA Has Taken a Policing Role
The North Korea with the support from China invaded the South Korea. North Korea and China used the system of communist economic which was not interesting to the US.As a result, the US together with UN sent troops to push the North Koreans to their regions. The outcome of the policing was the enactment of peace which exists between South and North Korea (Morse 1947).
War erupted in Grenada in the 1980s among the army of Sir Eric Gairy and the movement of Leftist New Jewel when the elections did not proceed as planned. Maurice Bishop took over the leadership after the socialists of Grenada seized power. However, Maurice Bishop was murdered in a military coup. The US intervened in the war to restore peace in Grenada by disposing of the military government and appointed Paul Schoon as Governor General. The invasion of Panama by the US took place between 1989 and 1990(Bergsten 1992).During the invasion, US deposed Manuel Noriega and swore in Guillermo Endara into office. The principal aims of US invasion of Panama were to protect the USA citizens from attack, defending the democracy of the people of Panama as well as to arrest General Manuel Noriega for trafficking of drugs(Schultz 2014).
The Vietnam War occurred between 1956 and 1975.The conflict was between the Democratic Republic of North Vietnam who was communist and its communist allies of South Vietnam. The USA lends support to the Republic of Vietnam based in the south. The war ended with the fall of South Vietnam to the North Vietnam withdrawal of USA forces when the North violated the agreement of 1973.Notably, the restoration of peace was triggered by the USA invasion (Bergsten 1992).
The war in Somalia erupted in 1988 during the reign of the dictator, Siad Barre. The dictator, Siad Barre was removed from power, and the leadership position was taken over by the local leaders. The country experienced political instability which forced the UN to send troops which were entirely made of USA soldiers to Somalia. The troop was responsible for establishing the Somalia government (Morse 1947).

Elements that Championed International Policy Decisions
Several factors contributed to USA intervention in most wars. First, the USA was against communism, and they were in fear of the country being taken over by communism. The USA government protect all of its citizens hence the government did not want the citizens to burden with taxes which are associated with communism. Moreover, the USA was in concern over the spread of communism in other nations. As a result, it intervened to fight against communist in those nations (Schultz 2014).
Secondly, the intervention of the USA in the war was meant to provide assistance to UN troops in peacekeeping. The UN troop in Somalia, for instance, was made up of 25000 American soldiers. The involvement of America I peacekeeping has resulted in the restoration of political stability in most countries (Morse 1947).
Moreover, the policies instituted were meant to protect the USA from attacks from the abroad. The USA was facing threats from terrorists such as al-Qaida.The most notable attack on the USA was the attack of September 11, 2001, in the USA. The policies were to ensure that the terrorist is removed before they launch an attack on USA (Schultz 2014).
