Poverty and hunger
Thesis: Poverty and hunger have a direct relationship characterized by the lack of funds and resources to get food.
IntroductionMany cases and incidences of poverty are closely associated with hunger among the many countries that are affected with hunger.
Research conducted through the world FAO shows that many parts of the hunger stricken areas like the sub Saharan Africa to be of extreme poverty.
Poverty and hunger have a direct relationship characterized by the lack of funds and resources to get food.
Indeed poverty and hunger go hand in hand due to the direct relationship that exists between them.
The lack of funds characterized by poverty directly leads to hunger in that people have no access to food security.
Moreover, there are a number of factors that significantly contribute to poverty. These factors eventually lead to hunger among the people since there is the lack of access to food.
The existence of poor infrastructure where the infrastructure level is poor is a major cause of poverty (Poverty and hunger, 2003).
The unequal distribution of wealth and income where a few couple of individual have access to wealth contributes greatly lot high poverty levels (Poverty and hunger, 2003).
The existence of poor technology among the developing countries is a major cause of poverty in that lack of technology makes resources to be unavailable hence poverty. Poverty due to lack technology results in hunger as there is no modern technology to ensure food security (Poverty and hunger, 2003).

The need to eradicate poverty so as to manage hunger has been adopted by the United Nations agencies that are concerned with the achievement of its objectives (Reducing poverty and hunger, 2002).
The measures adopted involve financing and training.
Financing involves funding agricultural programs and providing employment to workers.
There are several levels and kinds of poverty that contribute to the rising levels soft hunger in the world. The levels include,
Incomer poverty.
Income poverty is poverty that is based on the people’s levels and modes of monetary income (Hunger and Poverty, 2008).
As such the world statistics show that those living with less than $1 per day are considered to be poor hence extreme poverty leading to hunger.
It is approximated that more than 1 billion people all over the world leave below this poverty line.
Human poverty.
These form of poverty depicts the various dimensions that are closely linked to poverty (Hunger and Poverty, 2008).
The various dimensions include poor clothing, poor work environment and poor diet.
Moreover, social depreciation can be another form of human poverty.
This form of poverty shows how people living below the determined poverty line are adversely affected with poverty.
Due to the high poverty levels, as described by the two dimensions of poverty, the poor are exposed to hunger characterized by the lack of sufficient funds to access food or grow their own foods.
The exposure to hunger due to the extreme level of poverty is characterized by the following hunger effects ;
Undernourishment. This the highest level of food deprivation where one has little access to enough dietary foods (Hunger and Poverty, 2008).
It is estimated that more than 854 million people are undernourished worldwide.
Sub-Saharan Africa has the highest level of people who are undernourished followed by the many south Asian countries that live below the poverty line as set by the United Nations.
Malnutrition is another effect of poverty in that although there can be no hunger, the lack of access to quality food due to poverty results to foods that are not healthy to an individual (Hunger and Poverty, 2008).
This can result in a variety of nutrition illnesses to individuals.
In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between poverty and hunger.
This is supported by the adoption of the millennium development goals of the United Nations (MILLENIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS AND BEYOND 2015, 2015).
The goals encompass the financial empowering of individuals as the key to eradicating poverty and the resulting hunger.
The ways include the providence of quality jobs to individuals, research and development and the training of people on the ways to be economically stable so s to reduce the levels of poverty.
It’s only through the eradication of poverty that the levels of hunger can be eliminated throughout the world.
Proper communication and conveyance of poverty eradication measures should be adopted to make people realize this initiative.
