Psychology specialties that I have an interest in.
Personality and development psychology are the two areas I have always held a great interest in. While part of my interest in these fields has been drawn by my vast research in the area, most of my passion for these fields is inspired by their increasing presence in the contemporary practice. Psychology regarding personality and developmental psychology have become the most sought-after topics due to the increasing prevalence of developmental and personality psychological conditions. The lack of enough specialists has led to the misdiagnosis and poor management of most patients without access to psychology experts. Based on this, I have always had the passion to change this narrative for the greater benefit of people affected by these conditions.
New insights I gained from the two specialties.
I picked numerous valuable lessons from my study of personality and developmental psychological conditions. Learning about the new interventions and modalities of treatment of patients was the most inspiring among them. While most contemporary modalities draw from old principles, new treatment options continue to incorporate technology and other psychoactive substances in the management of extreme cases of developmental and personality disorders (Greenfield & Yan, 2006). For instance, dimensional learning has emerged with numerous subtle modifications that are individually tailored for the benefit of managing developmental disorders among children.

Real world application of the specialties.
Developmental psychology is an important concept that can be practically applied in the contemporary societal setting. For instance, certain adverse practices such as school shootings have long been associated with adolescent psychological disorders. Governments can apply the developmental psychological principles as a long term measure aimed at reducing socially deviant behaviors among students such as arson and school shootings. For example, practical way of addressing adolescent delinquency is the introduction of psychology modules into the school curriculum (Larsen et al, 2017). In this way, children are brought up to be psychologically conscious of their immediate social environment.
