Weather Patterns in the Maldives
If I were to visit one place in the world right now, it would be Maldives – a collection of more than 1192 islands located in the Indian Ocean – South-West of India. The islands have beautiful sceneries and beaches with luxurious hotel resorts. As a result, tourism is the backbone of the country’s economy. Notably, statistics indicate that the Maldives is the foremost destination for people seeking leisure, relaxation, and romance (Niyaz 370).
Generally, Maldives has one of the best and most favorable climatic conditions in the world. Notably, the year is divided into two weather patterns, winter and summer monsoons, which have unique conditions of temperature, rain, and winds. The Summer Monsoon starts in May and ends in August/ September. The climate is often wet and cold, and the weather can change abruptly. Therefore, if one were to visit the country in June, for example, they would encounter sunny weather with relatively clear skies. On the other hand, the winter monsoon period begins around October or November and ends in April. Thus, if one decides to visit the country say in December, they would experience hot and dry conditions often with little rainfall (Domroes 135).
