Abstract- This paper delves into how wind energy, biomass energy, and solar energy can be built and harnessed to promote the development of viable energy which is used to make a sustainable village. It will also entail the types of energy and how to design them. Moreover, it will include how the particular type of energy is used and how it aids in sustainability.

I. Introduction
In our current world, there are a plethora of growing problems that need solving. Among them, is the issue of electricity. The use of electricity calls for sparing and planned use as higher consumption leads to higher bills. To combat this issue, sustainable sources of energy should be sought after to reduce the impact of depletion of the non-renewable resources like petroleum and coal and also aid in the reduction of bills.
II. Wind energy
Wind energy is one of the most popular renewable energy sources. It is generated using wind turbines that consist of a rotor, direct current and an AC (alternating current) that is mounted on a high tower. The wind turbines’ design uses the wind’s force to generate electricity. Therefore, in the village, the turbines should be placed in areas of strong winds. The wind forces the rotors to rotate, and thus the kinetic energy is converted to electricity which is connected to the grid that is to be used by the village [1]. It will act as a frequent source of power and does not use any non-renewable resource.

Uses
In the village, the electricity produced by the wind turbines can be used in different tasks. For example, it can be utilized to run factories. It can be likewise be utilized for specific tasks like pumping water or grinding grains. The electricity is also used to run businesses, schools and can be manipulated in the village houses for the day to day activities [4].
III. Solar energy
Solar energy is another source of renewable energy and is mostly used in areas of high solar radiation and intensity. The solar energy is harnessed by the used of solar panels that converted the solar radiation into an electric current. In the design process, the village should first evaluate the amount of electricity needed to run the whole town comfortably [2]. This will correspond to the number of solar panels used. Once the number of panels to be used has been determined, they will be placed in an open field that is free from shades and slope. This renewable energy source is both environmentally friendly and economical. Furthermore, it is advantageous because of the low maintenance costs.
Uses
Solar energy can be employed in different places in the village. For instance, it is applied in the heating of water, cooking and in the heating of building in winter. When a village is located near the sea, salt can be harvested from the seawater by heating it, and it is thus a source of revenue to the villagers. The produced electricity can as well be applied as a source of lighting in village houses. Furthermore, the supplied voltage can be applied to electric power appliances like televisions and mobile phones in the village houses [5].
IV. Biomass energy
Biomass is materials from living organism, animal manure, and agricultural waste. There are several ways of producing electricity using biomass [3]. The first method entails directly burning the biomass that heats water to produce steam which is used to run turbines. The other method of energy production is the gasification process that turns the biomass into methane. This is the most common production of energy using biomass. In the gasification process, wet biomass turns into methane that is produced in a digestion tank [3]. The synthesis gas and methane can both be used in electricity production. Fuel cells can also be used where pure biogas is used to produce bio-electricity. It is thus a significant consideration in the design process [3]. This is environmentally friendly and is a sustainable source of energy. It thus aids in the sustainability process.
Uses
Biomass that is transformed into liquid fuels can be heated directly through combustion to produce heat [6]. Also, it can be utilized in moderate to light application in homes like lighting and cooking and can be applied in the process of making a hot water system. In large scale uses in the village, biomass energy produces biodiesel, biogas, ethanol, and electricity for general distribution. The most common use of biomass is in fuel cells that can power trucks, cars, and tractors. This can act as a source of revenue for the village thus making it self-sustaining [6].
How renewable energy aids in the sustainability process.
1. Economic sustainability
Renewable sources of energy are known to be cost-effective [8]. However, high initial costs of installation might be incurred. This is set off by the economic nature of the energy production process. It can be harnessed all year round, and the main advantage of this type of energy production is that the raw materials cannot be depleted. They can thus be harvested all year round therefore relating to constant electricity for village all year round. Moreover, the production process needs less workforce and labor and thus mainly saving in costs [7].
2. Social sustainability
In this type of sustainability, the health conditions of the workers and the communities around the project, i.e., the villagers are considered. When sustainable energy is produced, it tends to be environmentally friendly since they have no harmful byproduct or exhaust fumes [9]. The workers and the village or community around the project can thus live a peaceful life with less pollution [7].
3. Environmental sustainability
One of the major concerns in the modern world is the issue of global warming, which has been caused by the excessive production of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. It has led to a variety of problems that have impacted every aspect of the environment. When fossil fuels and petroleum (which are non-renewable sources) are burnt, they produce carbon dioxide which is released into the atmosphere [7]. This depletes the ozone layer that protects the earth from harmful radiation [10]. It has thus caused anomalies in the weather conditions and drastic climate changes around the globe. The use of renewable sources of energy eliminates the harming of the environment by producing clean and sustainable energy [7]. Moreover, since their raw materials are not excavated, they do not affect the condition of the environment in any way, as opposed to non-renewable sources. This promotes a healthy and clean environment for the village [7].
