Introduction
The subject of God’s existence has been debated through the man’s history with several philosophers bringing out their points of arguments. Several attempts have been made over centuries by philosophers to prove that God exists and various arguments have been developed towards achieving that goal. The paper will be based on three arguments which include ontological, teleological and cosmological arguments. They are important proofs of God’s existence. As much as theology may view God’s existence as essential on the basis of faith or revelation, several Philosophers based on these three arguments have made it possible to demonstrate by reasons that God exists.
Cosmological Argument
The argument points out that the universe may not have existed if it there was no cause. There is the need for some insights of why it currently exists. The argument is based on the fact that all physical things including mountains, rivers or boulders come into being and also go out existence regardless of how long they last. The fact that time is infinite; it is possible that there is a time that these things never existed. In the event that there was nothing during that time, then there couldn’t be anything without God. It implies that there must have been one being that is eternal. The argument asserts that whatever commences has to be with a cause and because of the universe began to exist then there must be a cause. The beginning of the world must have been either caused, and the idea that the beginning was uncaused is absurd since nothing normally comes from nothing.

The world must have been caused to exist by some being outside it.
Ontological Argument
The argument tries to show that God exists through abstract reasoning. The argument seeks to explicate the concept of God by seeking to show the existence of God based on that concept alone. It makes some association between the concept of God, perfection, and existence. It is based on the understanding that God is that greater being that no other greater being can be conceived. God’s perfection entails his existence, and that understanding becomes evident that God exists. There is the idea of a being that is indefinitely perfect, but since we and everything around us tends to be finite, then the concept of the perfect being could not have come from us or the nature around us. Hence, the concept of indefinitely perfect being must have originated from such a being which is God.
Teleological Argument
The argument is based the world’s order and the existence of being responsible for creating it with a particular purpose in mind. Based on this argument, things in the universe move towards different goals directed by the creator. The world is a very complex system but is governed by certain natural laws that scientists have studied in many generations. As much as the universe is a complex system, it is, however, a highly ordered system hence it serves a purpose. There are right conditions for the sustenance of life and development. This should not be disregarded since there are various ways in which the world could have been different. Based on the argument, the universe is ordered by some supernatural being which gives the explanation of the design and appearance around us. The argument, therefore, states that the world is the way it is since God created it with life in mind.
Evaluation
The subject of God’s existence has been one of the most critical questions of human philosophy. It has effects on the tenor of life on whether humankind is considered supreme in the world or whether there is a belief that humankind has a superior being that needs to be obeyed and loved or perhaps defied. The ontological argument argues from a God’s conception a being that is perfect and his non-existence is inconceivable while cosmological argument gives evidence based on the observable and empirical evidence from the universe. The teleological argument, on the other hand, asserts direct experience through personal revelation. All these arguments have a valid point of view based on the evidence presented to support them.
In our existence in the world which is finite, there is always a cause for any event. In the event, there isn’t first cause then there wouldn’t be any effects. It is, therefore, right to attribute the cause of the universe to God which is proof that God exists. Considering our finite world, our existence could not just occur; some being had to take a moment to make it happen. Human beings are normally rational hence we can agree that an event cant’s cause itself unless caused by some external force. The only answer that we can get on the question of God’s existence is that there is a supernatural being who is God and responsible for the universe and everything in it. We can, therefore, conclude that various philosophers based on these three arguments have made it possible to demonstrate by reasons that God truly exists.
