THE HISTORY OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

Introduction

In Chapter I of the Book History of International Relations, Charles Zorgbibe tells us how the German Empire, European Balance and Balkan Crisis with the reform of the Bismarck System was developed. The objective proposed by the public law professor, specialist in international relations is to return to political history, consider the narrative, the meaning of the systems and the ability to interpret that seeks to give understanding to intelligible facts. Charles writes about the proclamation of Versailles by Guillermo I (Weltpolitik – World politics), 

Developing

On January 18, 1781 in the gallery of the Mirrors of the Palace of Versailles where he announces at the same time, the constitution of a new German Reich.  This happens in the heart of the country in which the military monarchy triumphs. Princes, general and courtiers celebrated unification while at the foot of the throne was the architect of the German unit Otto von Bismarck, the cause of a tumult in the Landtag when issuing a speech against the dogmas of the German liberalism of the time and thanks to aConstitutional conflict happened to occupy the position of Minister of State of Prussia. A fact to take into account is the entente of the three emperors that is constituted between 1872 and 1873 where Bismarck (Realpolitick – pragmatic politics) went first to Australia in order to negotiate an alliance with the main continental powers. 

In 1867 the Austrian empire had become a dual monarchy, referring to the Austrian nation and the Hungarian that was extremely vulnerable in power factors, economic or military. On the other hand, the Russian Empire was giant in demography and natural resources, had just begun its economic revolution for which they need German products and capitals that led an outcome of an absolutist autocratic nature. The Austrian and German powers high to that of legitimate partners.

And to the different families of liberal and democratic thought, thus creating a political system distanced from democracies. The crisis of imminent war and the growth of production reconstitutes the military force of 1872 and the affinity between France and Germany is achieved, which will allow the early payment of the compensation of the war (five billion francs). This explodes in 1875 and will allow to prove the effectiveness of the Bismarck system that derives from the agreement of the three emperors which has not really worked. 

A part of the chapter that seemed interesting was the spiny issue of the East that is linked to the decline of the Ottoman Empire. And that explodes on August 1, 1875 in Bosnia-Herzegovina with the insurrection of Christian populations subject to the Ottoman yoke as the peasantry and artisans were overwhelmed by Turkish taxes and stately charges. On April 13, 1877, Russia declared war on the Ottoman Empire after having taken precautions through a secret agreement signed with Vienna on January 15.

conclusion

Russian armies achieve free via from November of the same year and flow into the plain of Andrinopolis. The European rivalries in the Mediterranean use in favor of Bismarck and the maintenance of the diplomatic isolation of France, from three states: Italy, Great Britain and France. Said the above and to conclude Charles writes about the triple alliance that was in 1882 in which the three countries (Austria-Hungary and Italy) agreed to support themselves, in case of being attacked by France or by Russia.

Biography

Charles Zorgbibe was born on May 5 of the Jean – Monne Faculty, then rector of the Aix – Merseille Academy from 1986 to 1990.
