The Industrial Revolution in the 18

A great process of economic change would begin in Europe during the 18th century, called "the Industrial Revolution". The appearance of modern society, based on industry and control of another social class "the bourgeoisie";This is what the origin of our current society would give.

The colony had died on the day when Napoleon’s troops conquered the Spanish metropolis, the agonized artisanal order from the moment in which the English factories invaded the local market. That is, it was not only an economic change, but it caused the transformation of the life of an era;social classes, demography, mentality, customs, etc. From that moment on, a transition began that would end centuries of a labor -based labor and the use of animal traction being these replaced by: machinery for the transport of goods and passengers and industrial manufacturing.

As a consequence of industrial development, new social groups or classes were born headed by the proletariat (poor industrial and peasant workers) and the bourgeoisie (owner of the means of production and possessing most of the rent and capital). This new form of social division resulted in social and labor problems, new ideologies and revolutions that advocated and demanded an improvement in the living conditions of popular classes such as trade unionism, socialism, anarchism or communism.

After the May Revolution and the consequent declaration of independence, the military forces of that time demanded the installation of weapons and ammunition factories for the defense of Buenos Aires, due to the difficulty of obtaining armaments from abroad.

Wait! The Industrial Revolution In The 18 paper is just an example!

In 1810 the idea of installing a fuse factory was raised and Domingo Matheu was appointed as a general direct, with the participation of a foreign expert named Holmberg and several English and German teachers arrived in the country to realize it. In 1813 in some sheds near the current Plaza Libertad, up to 80 monthly fuses was produced, that modest result reflected the logical predominance of artisanal and manual methods in that task.

In 1816 a large number of salados were installed, which belonged to families with representative surnames of the local society among them are: Rosas, Dorrego, Irigoyen, among others. The competition of the saladers with the flesh supply to the city generated dark conflicts of interest, which led to its temporary closure in 1817. Saladero’s enormous economic, social and political dimension did not imply that these establishments mark a path of progress in the country’s manufacturing evolution. In 1822 the National Government decided that the saladers had to move away enough from the city to avoid pollution problems. However, the Saladero was considered a manifestation of technological backwardness.

In 1829 Antonio Cambaceres arrived in the country where he installed his own salader. One of those proposals consisted of boiling the bones of the cattle to extract the fat, and that was how Cambaceres itself installed a fat factory in the Barracas area for that purpose.

Basically for many decades the slaughterhouses became the first large -scale manufacturing of the country and the only one of importance. In this way, the saladeeros docked the first brands of the manufacturing civilization in Buenos Aires.

On the other hand, the railroads caused a revolution, such investment was made between Pampas landowners, English speculators and intermediaries. Railway teams from the simplest to the most complex, arrived in the country from Great Britain, driven by that special relationship between investors and buyers. The railroads were considered as a source of progress because they hit the transport system and allowed the expansion of primary production.
