Many people are of the opinion that the president is the most powerful man on earth. Having the highest rank in the government implies that the president is on top regarding power and position of influence. Being the most powerful however is a matter of opinion as power may be derived from many sources. in this context, we delve into the reasons why the US president is the most powerful man on earth and refute the same on the ground of opinion.
The USA is the most powerful nation in the world. This is made possible from the military ground and the point of influence the country has on others. The president gets his power from the constitution. Looking at it on a worldwide level, the president is the voice of a country (Ewalt 1). And the power allocated to him by the constitution and from the most powerful state jointly make him the powerful man on the earth. He has the power to begin a war between the nations. In fact, he is the one to preside the engagement of a nuclear weapon as his fingertip acts a security code for launching. This makes him the most powerful man on the earth.
On the other hand, power does not just come from being a president. During the American Revolution, Business people the likes of original J.P Morgan, Rockefeller and Vanderbilt had power to the point that they intervened the elections of the president. These people did not only have money, but the money came with power. At the time, a president was like a puppet to them.

He could not do anything that went against their will as they were the most prominent people in the society. This scenario has not changed much.
In conclusion, although many may be on the opinion that the president is the most powerful man, there are many variables, for instance, wealth that determines the position of power. But it is evident that the president has a great deal of power and influence the world over compared to others who might only have the power within the boundary of the nation.
