The U.S. Navy incorporates various cultures including the culture of command. This culture is essential for the overall performance of different operations within the organization and especially during war periods.
The core values include honor, courage, and commitment which officers follow the latter by engaging in war activities that show courage, allegiance to the country, and obedience to given orders.
The navy sets standard behaviors that all professional mariners need to abide. These behavioral norms are essential since they offer guidelines on how members should conduct themselves for successful operations.
Several areas in the naval management need review including the never-say-no culture which leaves officers working in deplorable conditions such as being overworked.
